The 20th anniversary of the handover ceremony is going on right now.
What are your thoughts on Hong Kong?
Can One Country, Two Systems last?
What will happen after 2047?

In the 1997 when the HK was returned, its GDP per capita is around the same as Singapore.
Now there is more than USD 10000 difference in GDP per capita (SG is something like 50000 while HK is like 35000)
and HK people have seen housing price going up because of Mainlanders buying their properties like they do in Vancouver.
I.e. HK people are experiencing everything going up while their wages and economy stagnating
I don't think HK people like Chinese reign and the Chinese has ruled HK effectively. HK will end up as just a mediocre Chinese city by 2047

It's a pretty neat and interesting 'country'.
