there's not really any reason to spend Western levels of unit prices. Having 500 T-72s with modern rounds, sights and systems is enough to kill any other tank in the world.

The main cost they have to focus on is air frames and those are where primary budgets go in the slav lands due to land locked scenarios.

Tanks, artillery and airpower are king in Eastern Europe and air power is touchy due to modern slav AA systems.
