What were you taught in school about George Washington? Mainly, European citizens. What did your education system say about arguably, the most influential man in the past 1000 years.

Here we are taught that George Washington is basically the Jesus Christ of the United States. The rest of the founding fathers are also held in very high stature.
>>
>>131849505
In school?

uhhhhh I guess he got frozen cold leading people across basically New York in the middle of winter. Something about muskets.
>>
American Revolution is mentioned and it is explained as Americans revolting because of no representation and shit, a short overview of war, and mentions how it influenced French Revolution, and Declaration of Independence of course.
Washington isn't specifically singled out besides beingmentioned as a leader, along with others. There are streets named after him in Podgorica and Belgrade.

bump for interest

I was taught the George Washington was essentially the second coming Jesus.
>fought for freedom & liberty
>tacticool genius
>the avatar of bravery, intelligence and humility
>reluctantly accepted leadership contingent upon the limits of the office
>>
>>131849505
Now, I do remember some colored blocks in my 7th grade text book that illustrated the political parties of the first 150 years or so, and singling out how Washington did not belong to a party and said parties would be the end and how he didn't want to be the king etc.

But I think I learned a lot more from, "The 5000 Year Leap" by Cleyon Skousen, regardless of whether he was an FBI guy or not.
>>
>>131849505
>most influential person in the past 1000 years.
>blocks your path
>>
>>131850006
Don't forget he legitimately rode across a battlefield unscathed, while having SIX bullet holes in his jacket, and none in his horse.
>>
>>131850006
Didn't Washington himself consider that he was an average general at best?
>>
>>131849505
He's barely mentioned. American Independence has a few paragraphs dedicated in our History books, nothing but bullet points.
>>
>>131850396
Washington spent his whole life trying to be as good as his brother, and as such never felt he was good enough to honor his memory.
He joined the army specifically to try and follow in his brothers footsteps.
>>
>>131850396
That part certainly isn't taught in school. Both Washington and congress were aware of his mediocrity. But he's a huge man, and one who speaks well.

But compared to other commanders like Greene, he's pretty mediocre, and his redeeming quality is being not Gates.

Amusingly, I don't recall learning much about his actual presidency and skill as a statesman whatsoever.
>>
>>131850396
Yes, but that only further boosts his humility.
It meshed well with the thought that many wanted him to be the first "king" of America but he was against the existence of such an office.

He wasn't describe as supremely confident, rather as supremely humble.
>>
Literally who?
>>
>>131850417
The most Mexico is mentioned in our school history books is a paragraph on Texas/The Alamo/Santa Anna. Soon there will be an addendum on The Wall.
>>
>>131850799
What if General Washington came back on the scene today?

He'd probably humiliate most of them.
>>
>>131850799
Ironically since he was a great leader, just not a great military leader.

>>131850303
pretty BASED if you ask me
>>
>>131851036
How was he not a great military leader?

I live not too many miles from the site of one of his clever forts he built after the French gave up and left a highly strategic location. And this as a teenager.
>>
>>131849505
a short overview, but nothing more. we spent like half of the year in year 10 learning about aboriginals and muslims.
>>
>>131851231
I'm not saying he was bad, but he was beaten shitload of times by the British.
>>
I just remember he could basically control the weather.

Pretty sure he was a wizard.
>>
In CT, Washington was emphasized (respectfully) as being a very green and mediocre general who ended up pulling off the revolution with the help of the French and the Patriots, who tried to steer the country with level-headed leadership departed from personal ego.
>>
>>131851368
But that's the American spirit lad. Nobody cares how many times you got beaten if you win in the end.
>>
Good man who turned down absolute power. Very rare.
>>
>>131849505
He wouldn't accept a crown so he was offered the Presidency instead.
>>
>>131851487
That's why I called him a great leader, but not a great military leader. In tactical department he was often outmanouvered.
>>
>>131851654
But that's wrong. We had both the Constitution to replace the Articles of Confederation as well as beating back the redcoats back where they came from.

This man was a brilliant piece in the puzzle.
>>
>>131851568
This is why he is revered by US citizens who understand history. He could have made himself king or dictator if he wanted to.
>>
>>131850417

lol, I too would be ashamed if a country owned our ass in every military confrontation like the US did. lol. cockroach
>>
>>131850109
Literally who?
>>
>>131851796
But I don't disagree he was a great political leader, however he had big aid which helped him win on the field. For example at Siege of Yorktown half of the army were French regulars.
>>
>>131851973
Correct. He navigated the situation extremely well for a novice.
>>
Absolutely nothing. I always found it funny when Canadians complain about Americans being ignorant on Canadian affairs when your average Canadian only has a cursory knowledge of U.S history, almost all of it being on the civil rights movement.
>>
>>131849885
What they should really teach is the truth: Secret societies (mainly freemasons) brought about the American revolution not because of taxation without representation but to literally bring about a new world order. They were successful. Here's a rundown of what they were aiming for:

1. Destabilization of the monarchies on earth. Total success. Within 100 years monarchichal power in nearly every area on earth diminished to a ceremonial role only. The common man realized you don't need a dictator supposedly ordained by god to rule over you, you could rule over yourself.

2. Test the Common Man: Many classical liberals and philosophers believed the common man could handle the power of ruling himself and keep himself free. Many did not and believed human nature would ensure this would never last long The American revolution and its ideals was a TEST of the common man. Let the common man be as a king over himself and his own land, and to see if he could handle that power and keep himself (and his fellows) free from tyranny, the very thing that has plagued mankind since the beginning.

3. BUILD UP the new world in the event that "The great experiment" test failed. It's no coincidence the US went from a backwoods nothing to economic and military superpower in less than 200 years. Once powerful, it would be used as a vehicle towards a one world, totalitarian socialist government.

These same secret socities that brought the original American revolution about are now working diligently to complete "The Great Work" which is supposedly to realize the ultimate happiness of mankind in a one world government.

What is most scariest is history is filled with such plans that always ended in the common man suffering most terribly since the dawn of time.
>>
>>131851106
You see I read these quotes and I fully believe them. It makes me want to prepare. But in this modern society even saying that quote in public you will be eviscerated as a dangerous individual and potential next adam lanza.

((they)) sure did a good job at brainwashing the masses at literally rejecting any form of resistance against clear tyranny. In fact the masses do the opposite, they love their slavery.

>>
>>131849505
Everything else in this thread. George Washington, originally a general and basically the sole founder of all America. Then once you get into middle school more focus is put on Founding Fathers eg Franklin, Jefferson, Adams. What they never tell you is their aversion to Jews, their definite clear intentions for America to be a continued European ethnostate, and that they endorsed armed revolution as something that should and would occur in the nation's future.
>>
>>131853095
>sole founder
Nah. It took a lot of them to work it out. Washington just managed the military to get it going.
>>
>>131852984
Whiskey Rebellion was bullshit though. Congress did nothing wrong. Absolute freedom is anarchy, and they weren't anarchists.

I'm not sure if this holds true in Canada, but i've found that the average American tends to agree with what he's saying if you talk to them IRL.
The (((media))) tries to make us feel that we are alone & extreme, but they aren't as successful as it seems.

It's a bit moot, since they won't always stand up when it counts, but the goys aren't quite as corrupted as they are portrayed to be.

Honestly washington isn't really a focal point of education here. Beyond being the first president and a general, his thoughts on subjects aren't really talked about. The other founding fathers have a much bigger focus, like jefferson and adams.

This. He was a bad ass General, leading his men into battle and victory. Specifically crossing the Delaware River in the pitch black night.
>>

Haha I figured as much. I went to an inner city public school and it was pretty much the same.

Why would a black female history teacher speak well of slave owning Washington or Jefferson when she can skip up to the 60's where the real history started

Nah. Even Jefferson agreed that it was a justified rebellion. They just finished fighting the Brits and their bullshit taxes, the whole point of the revolution was to stop that nonsense from happening. Washington a shit for marching on his own countrymen defending the ideals of the revolution.

He was a really humble guy, part of what made him so like able. He was: charismatic, tall and broad, especially for that time, and he wasn't a pompous ass.
>>
>>131851231
He wasn't a great leader military wise, especially compared to other generals with a lot more experience.
He was pretty clever though, brave, and cared about his men. The guerrilla style warfare really covered up some of his shortcomings.
>>
>>131849505

Primary and secondary school:

>he was a general
>then he became the first president

University:

Not much about him personally, it was mostly about the domestic problems which led from the Articles of Confederacy to creating the Constitution. I think the professor told us how he ended that army rebellion by pretending to be a weak old man.

they taught us the bad stuff about him, because swedish schools are cucked and kinda also brainwashed me. they said he owned tons of slaves, was a racist n'shiet. ofc when i did research 2 years later i found out he was not just bad.

Don't worry, most Americans are getting that education now too. Way too much time is spent pandering to the niggers. Pretty much every history class, no matter the subject, spent a good portion of February talking about the same niggers.
