Ironic considering the Cards and Tigers are so universally loved but they play in cities that are basically Mogadishu. Baseball is such an implicitly white sport as all of its fans are mostly white. On the other hand, KC is a pretty cozy town. It's mostly burbs, working class people, and hipsters. All the rough parts are confined to one area where its very hard to get to.

The rural areas are real Missouri. Even Springfield is a decent size town while staying largely conservative. I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be honestly, and that's after visiting 90% of the US.

What people who cite those statistics don't understand is that St. Louis City and St. Louis County are independent of each other, unlike Detroit and its surrounding counties.
