>ISIS caliphate defeated
that's different from ISIS being defeated, they just fucked off into afghanistan
the moment the US isn't sinking millions of dollars into campaigns against them they'll be back

just like a cancer cell, once you stop treating the body, the cell will come back

ISIS may have gone. But the conflict in this region is still ongoing.
I might sound completely wrong, but my biggest concern is that there might be a huge Yugoslav-war like in both countries that involves between Kurds who are backed by the U.S. Coalition, Governments of Iraq and Syria with Hezbollah, Iran and Russia. And the pro Islamists groups backed by the Saudis, Turkey and Qatar.
>Iraqi, Kurdish and Syrian militaries finally manage to grind down IS
.... t-thank you based drumpf, I think(?)

Nice symbolic victory but you cannot defeat stuff like that. Numerous ISIS fighters will defect to Europe and commit attacks on Europeans. The ones that stay in the Levant will of course also keep on bombing places.
