Human sacrifice originated among hunter gatherers. When you live off the fat of the land, you have to keep the population of the tribe in check, otherwise your tribe overgrazes and your tribe dies. Agriculture has eliminated constraints on population. Obviously there are better methods for keeping populations in check, but the practice was evolutionary fit at some point in the distant past.
Jordan emphasizes that you need processes that allow you to transcend tradition.

He has never made this claim. Although he has argued that the symbolism and mythology within the Bible contain a level of sophistication that qualifies it to be a useful guide for living life, when interpreted properly. tl'dr watch the biblical lecture series faggot

He has never defended human sacrifice. He stated that it would be lazy thinking to label societies that engaged in such a practice as "save" because of the complexity of the idea of sacrificing something (in this case a person) for a chance at a better future. He has specifically stated that it's a good thing that we are now able to make metaphorical rather than blood sacrifices

He claims that some stories of the bible are distilled versions of what humans have evolved physiologically and socially to consider moral i.e. to maximize their chances of survival.

He defended the idea behind sacrifice, the concept of bargaining with the future, and exemplified human sacrifice as the culmination of a ritualistic behavior. He did not defend the ritual itself.

Start small. Clean your room first. No joke. Take up the responsibility to keep your room clean and organized, then expand that out to other rooms and eventually your house. Then take up other responsibilities that seem difficult but possible for you to take on. Keep these in balance and you will be able to take on more and more responsibility. Your house doesn't have to be clean 24/7 but you shouldn't be walking around a mess when you have nothing else to do or can multitask
