Why does Trump now like our Apprenticeship system?

This is a red board which means that it's strictly for adults (Not Safe For Work content only). If you see any illegal content, please report it.

Our system is literally broken with many apprentices lacking in basic math and language skills. And Trump wants this system to be implemented in the US? Why???
>>
Because trades and apprenticeships are for the stupid people who can't cut it at college. This gives them something to do and learn so they can contribute to society. Actually a good suggestion by Trump and I support it.
>>
>>131749623
You don't need math or language skills for blue collar jobs. Do you seriously think that the guys who went to a Hauptschule would do a PhD in Physics or make it to investment banks in Frankfurt if they went to uni? To each his own.
>>
>>131749623

Apprenticeship has nothing to do with your math and language skills.
When you have language skills then you are proabably some mud shit from Kebabistan.
Slavs meanwhile learn pretty fast german.

When you are shit at math, you probably were shit at school, are a woman.
>>
>>131749773
He's a college-educated fuck head that thinks he is better than blue-collar workers just because they don't speak no good.
>>
They're cheaper.
Yesterday I had a conversation with my best friend and he told me that at his old job there were people working 50hrs a week for 200euro a month - only because then they can go to ANOTHER job offer and claim "work experience" at a "reputable" firm, all the while they exploit idiots that are willing to do basically everything for basically nothing

The program is now a part of Perspectives for Young Refugees and offers training to about a dozen participants at a time in six-month cycles. They've trained between 60 and 70 young refugees so far.

While the chamber’s program gives participants skills and much-needed networking opportunities to land an apprenticeship, success rates are still anemic: Only four graduates of the program have received a job placement, even though the chamber works with some 900 companies in the region with the capacity to take on trainees.

Schäfer defended the program, but said six months just isn’t enough. Many refugees’ language skills are still too poor and their professional experience too little to qualify for German firms, he said.

"The training level of the refugees that are coming to us is shockingly low," Schäfer said. "Regardless of aptitude, the basic prerequisite to an apprenticeship is knowledge of the language."

Hard does one become a plumber or carpenter in a America? In Australia you do a 4 year apprenticeship working for a company while doing the occasional 2 or 3 week training block at a trade school. There's also a log book and some tests you have to complete in order to become qualified.

Trump will say literally anything he thinks people will like.
It used to be to impress his rich customers.
Now it's the poor suckers who elected him.

They already seem to view this as the sort of this that will play well in the rust belt. so It doesn't really matter if it works.
People rarely check if policies work. If their life improves satisfactorily they will attribute it to good government and vote for the incumbent. If they feel things have got worse or not improved enough they will vote them out.

I'm a college graduate who later joined the trades (industrial electrician). I was miserable in corporate cubicle culture environments, so I took a paycut and switched gears and am much happier solving problems, building useful things, and getting endorphins from moving around instead of sitting in a chair all day. I know several university graduates in my trade.

I know many I went to university with could not hack it in my trade, and of course vice versa, sure. It's odd to see someone on /pol/ think that college students/graduates are actually intelligent given all the SJW examples to the contrary frequently posted on /pol./

Unless you are LARPposting as a classist Democrat who hates the working/middle class, in parallel to the phenomenon within the left described by Orwell in The Road To Wigan Pier.

There is a union path and a nonunion path.

But the nonunion shops actually don't want their apprentices to become journeymen because they'd have to pay them more. They also treat their apprentices like shit usually so they tend to leave the trade.

Then they complain that there is a shortage and they need to bring in foreign labor similar to the H1B visa program, its all of their own doing because they don't want to pay their workers well or treat them decently, H1B abuse is a wet-dream for them.

Dude, Trump's daughter married a Jew and converted to Judaism. His cabinet is filled with globalists, Jews and their servants. His Jewish-Zionist son in law is his major adviser and basically runs the country. The only thing he's actually managed to accomplish is to continue fighting Israel's wars and sell weapons to Israeli-supported terrorist organizations like ISIS and Al Quaeda. And now we know he was planning a no-fly zone and a big-ass US military operation against Syria since the very beginning (yeah, just like Shitlary - Tulsi Gabbard discusses how she met with him about that, I think, days after he was elected, way before the inauguration).

That is not the fault of the apprenticeship system, but the fault of the school systems. You shouldn't have to teach them much math or basic how to write a letter shit after they went to school for 9-10 years nor basic english.
Almost 90% of apprenticeship jobs can be done on a high level with math knowing the rule of three, basic geometry and ok tier language skills.

Actually its not. Berufsschule gives theoritical lessons and your company trains you in practical skills. You can blame the system for Ahmed and Murat not knowing how to read/write and do math.

The only thing i don't agree with that getting your "Meister" is pretty expensive. This limits Meisters to inheritors of companys or richfags. Some trades e.g. Barber(Friseuse) arent that lucrative to afford the Meister-education.

>>
>>131758451
It's kind of funny though. We have the same sort of thing. It's called MBO, a sort of American community "college" and they're all fucking morons with some rare exceptions.

I saw some "technicians" install airco units on a roof I happened to look down upon. They bolted the things straight into the roofing all next to each other. Not only does that reduce their cooling efficiency, it's not good for the roof either.
I sat back and enjoyed the show and sure enough, after the first rain a nice big puddle of water was forming on the roof.
Over time this became worse and worse, the bolts were pretty much submerged all the time and it started leaking.
Eventually some other MBO edjucatud cancer mongoloids had to come and fix the roofing.
>>
>>131753234

Truth be told you do have to wing it, the situations and solutions are so varied. Many times you have to figure out what skill/knowledge you need to solve the situation as needed and pick it up, which itself is a skill -- the most important.

But there is a lot of room for improvement. Also it could create more solidarity in the industry to fend off predations like H1B and scummy companies.

>>
>>131760107

Engineers fuck up all the time. All the time. That's why they have insurance.

If that was structurally the best spot on the roof to put them, that was the best spot. Better a puddle than part of the roof falling in. The puddling effect is because commercial roofs are layers of "fabric" and "tar", of course any weight makes an indentation, especially under a hot sun.

What most likely happened is another contractor was supposed to go in after the units were installed and do apply another layer of roofing to both cover the screws and elevate that spot. But some office drone or project manager must've dropped the ball, probably because they sit in the cubicle all day staring out the window pretending to be doing something.

>>131752170
Holy shit, you're either retarded or were just bad at the job and now you feel the need to complain.

So many fucking idiots in Germany feel the need to study something completely useless because they have no idea where they want to go with their life.
And after 3 years of random bullshit they find themselves getting no job because the marketplace is filled with students without any working experience.

meanwhile you learn alot about your job in the 3 years you're being an apprentice and also get a ton of working experience.

Nowadays you finish 3 years of being an apprentice and get a job immediately if not the same company wants to keep you in their office.
>>
>>131760517
Most US community colleges are a scam. I do not know in which fields "students" accumulate the most debt. I can take a guess though.
They should not call them universities or give out degrees because it's an absolute misrepresentation of what they're accomplishing. They should be fair about job prospects. Useless studies should be weeded out. Unfortunately, this requires serious government intervention and reform of institutes who monitor the quality of education. Considering we're talking about the US, good luck with that.
Education should not be in the hands of companies. Right now that's exactly what schools are.

The US used to have that, until the Jews decided they wanted people who are already "good to go" because they don't want to spend shekels training and wanted goys and third parties (i.e. education funded by tax dollars or self-funded) to handle that. Or have goys working for free via unpaid internships. Bringing over apprenticeship programs screws the Jews as they're not forced to train people to fill the jobs, as how it was back then.

Basically you are not going to get people to take these job training classes if you pay them shit, and let me just tell you, even with training they will start you off at burger flipper wages and keep you there for years.

Not to mention you need people in these training who knows basic math. Too many idiots I saw at college who couldn't tell me what 2/3 is in decimal without a calculator.

>if you have a mechanical engineering degree you can get a machining job right out the gate clearing 80-100K.

I will have both my metal machining and numerical control degrees pretty soon here, and they will not start you out at 80-100k out the door, unless like I said you are very lucky.

I use math every second of my work day. Angles and multiplication are huge and very important, if I get it wrong people can die. You take math from school and apply it to real world scenarios.
>>
>>131764571

It's completely true, the last machine shop I worked for pretty much went down after being around since the 1960's because things are becoming cheaper to make and there are other machine shops who will sell their stuff for less, why? because they pay their employees less, and when making parts with tight tolerances are already hard enough to make, scraps, fuck ups make it so you get even less profit out of it. It's almost like a race to the bottom, the less they pay their workers the more money they can make and compete with other companies. If im selling a valve body for $100 with outside processing and everything included, and the other guys sells it for $90, they will go to them after the contract ends, then you are left making no parts because nobody can pay your asking price, so they cut workers pays, cut workers all together and before you know it there are no workers left, no company left. that's why I would never work at a small machine shop anymore.

basically machine shops for the most part are stretched thin unless you go work for a large company, but those guys fuck you for years with low wages before you make good money, if you even last that long. I took machining for me, I wanna learn to make stuff for my enjoyment.

I remember one time going in for this interview at a machine shop, and they were giving me a tour around and there were nothing but fobs working there who knew little to no English, once I saw that I didn't even answer their calls afterwords.

That's not a tenable situation for such an industry.
At some point the sector is going to be saturated with shitty material, shitty craftsmanship and shitty reputation altogether.
Free market is fine, but this is companies cannibalizing theirselves.

>But the German system is really, really bad. It is one of the reasons why we are in the mess we are right now.

You're in a mess because you've opened your borders to millions of violent destitute illiterate third-world savages. Quibbling about apprenticeship system minutiae is completely inane given what you've done to yourselves with muslim invaders.
>>
>>131765794

Cubicle drones don't take the long view of how much replacement will cost, that's why they buy cheap parts and don't pay for regular maintenance, and just end up paying more down the line, plus interruptions to day-to-day business and impacts on deadlines, and also risking injury/death in some cases.

A race to the bottom.

>Free market is fine, but this is companies cannibalizing theirselves.

There is your answer, and that's exactly what they are doing. The first thing these assholes cannibalize with their own company are there workers. If things get harder, you start running 2 or 3 cnc's at once with multiple operations vs just 1, and they continue like this with no raises because they have to compete with the other machine shop. This is why I said I got my college education for myself, not these assholes, because they love workers with college education, you might get paid shit but they will at least keep you. I think im better than that, so now days if I can't find a job in machining, that's okay because in the end I got that for me, not some asshole who wants to rape and abuse you. Cheap labor for these guys is awesome, they hire 1 guy to setup the machines, and then they get Pablo or something to push cycle start and change parts every so often depending on the part.

It really has become fucked up. But again, making stuff for yourself is worth it, you can make anything you want with a mill or lathe.
>>
>>131766118

>maintenance

This too, this a 1000x. These guys will buy a half million dollar cnc machine, huge, almost the size of a building, takes weeks to just install, I saw them install it. IT was a Makino NX6 I believe, and they never paid for maintenance, there is a huge book the thickness of a yellow page that says all the maintnence that are required and the amount of time that it needs to be dome, none of that shit was ever done, and when the machine goes down, that stops it from making parts so they call a technician to come down, which is a thousand dollars just to bring him out.

If they would have just paid for maintenance they wouldn't be down, your workers would have stuff to do, but these assholes are that tight asses that they will refuse even that.

sad.

I can't believe you idiots don't know that the customer decided where to put the units on the roof, with the help of a structural engineer, not the technicians, and it was the customer's responsibility to have a roofing contractor do the follow-up work of simply slapping on several layers to prevent puddling and leaking. You don't even understand the basics of how organizations run or how things happen. Its just comical.

Bullshit.
It actually works for people that want to learn and actually learn by hands on practice ( which is a huge precentage of peopke who arent going into higher education).
The reason why you might say its shit is not the fault of this system, but our government loving to fuck over the working population.

Our dual apprenticeship program is way above anything other European countries offer.

It gives you not only practical experience but also an additional school education that,
in combination, makes you much more adept in performing your job, post graduation.

It also gives people a second chance of completing their Abitur/ Fachabitur degree
(it's like a really good High School degree, for you Americans).

And it applies to many jobs in different fields.
From blue collar to white collar.

Mowing lawns isn't a real job. We're talking review committees, financiers, building codes, specifications, contractual obligations, etc. If the CONTRACTOR refused to bid they'd lose out of the money. If the contractor won the bid but then decided to not implement the customer specifications they would be SUED for breach of contract. If the technicians refused to install according to customer specification they'd be fired. You just don't understand how the adult world works manchild.
