What is it about seeing people with mental disabilities that is so depressing? Even if they have fully functioning lives, friends, and it doesn't hinder them at all aside from speech impediments, listening to these people talk depresses the fuck out of me.
Even if they're talking about how their problems don't hinder them, all I can think is that they're fucking lying and pity them.

Sympathy is the biggest waste of mental capacity there is. Empathy makes sense because it allows us to understand others' situations, but sympathy is virtuous condescension.

Do you not see my rationale?
What fucking good does appealing to emotion do? I see a starving animal, and I can rationally choose to feed it. There's no use in being emotional over it.
