it's time for another pathetic millennial bitching thread!

Why aren't millennials doing anything significant like inventing things, discovering new political ideologies, getting married, or even buying a house? Millennials are in their late 20s-30s yet they've achieved nothing. Why is your generation so worthless?

it's partly because information companies are stealing their ideas so fast they don't even think there's a way to invent a piece of hardware and get credit or manufacture something they thought of before someone can steal it or make a "different" version of it. and i agree with them. you'll never get to market before it's flooded with a stolen version.

it undermines the incentives and economics of the whole thing

There's a lot to this. More than debt is the potential for capital generation. People between the ages of 21-45 are responsible for most of that generation in the US. Unfortunately that generation was going to be too small to meet the nation's needs so the decision was made in senior policy circles to allow immigrants from the southern border into the country. The assumption was that they'd begin having kids at a much more rapid pace than the naturalized citizens. It appears to have worked. In fact, we have what we need which is why we've only seen WAshington BEGIN to get serious about border security in the last 5 years or so.

Raising the minimum wage means businesses have to reduce the number of employees and or cut hours.

So effectively it doesn't bring anybody out of poverty and just destroys low paying jobs.
>>
>>131728606

Your talking points are off, you're meant to say businesses will raise prices, lad.

What you're suggesting is that businesses can run on half the staff they have but choose not to out of some philanthropic goodness of heart or desire to be surrounded by people. Absurd. They employ the absolute minimum they need to get the job done.

They have the option to raise prises as well, but normally that's not what businesses want to do, because they want to stay competitive. Some random jackass working at McDonald's could easily take on the responsibilities of like 2 employees seeing as he's being paid the wage of 2 employees if minimum wage goes up to $13.

Businesses generally only have so much money allocated for payroll so if the cost of employee goes up they're usually going to either cut staff or lower everyone's work hours.

>>

I think they are too busy being underpaid. just a thought.
>>
>>131729575
Well I'm not implying that they are employing more people than they need to out of some sort of philanthropic reason. It's just that with a lower minimum wage they can afford to hire more people.

Every business has a certain amount of money allocated for payroll that allows them to still be as profitable as they want. They can only hire a certain number of people without raising their prices. When you increase the price of workers the people that are less productive get cut and extra responsibilities get put on the remaining employees, because the business wants to remain productive and they can no longer afford the workers.

The firstborn has the most initiative and adventureness. About a 1/3 of Millenials were aborted by the boomers. Aborted children trend towards being the first child the woman "would" have had. However we now know that women retain the DNA of any chad they bang, as well as successive (2nd, 3rd, etc) children retaining DNA of the babys before them.

This means that the vast majority of 1st borns in the US were aborted, and with that the initiative of them. The Bible says that the 1st borns being wiped out preceeds the fall of society, and Satan got the Boomers to do it all by themselves.

The biggest problem right now is that the boomers made it really hard to get a job and then hid all the jobs worth getting from the millennials. They conned nearly everyone into believing you have to go to college. They also keep pushing back the considered age to be an adult. I know a few people who don't considered you an adult until you are 30. A third of your life. Boomers are doing everything they can to make younger people fail.

I have rich parents and will survive any hardship this world faces because of that but fuck the boomers for voting for endless gibs but not having enough to kids to pay for the ponzi scheme welfare state while importing millions of low IQ savages who are a further drain on welfare to make their scooters and boner pills cheaper
>>
>>131726110
Kek, implying boomers "saved" anything. That's why most are working well into their "golden years" and keeping jobs that would have, traditionally, been given to the next generation. Looks like boomers found yet another way to fuck the younger generation. And they call Milennials the "me me me" generation.

thats where you can start. Never invest in businesses you dont fully understand thats the key. You have to learn everything about the business and its competitors that you can before thinking about buying the stock. then its startups which are a lot more lucrative. Heres a tip buy smash tv. its an up and coming ipo.

I work in a place that recently raised their minimum wage. It is absolutely untrue that they work the absolute minimum they need to get the job done.

They work what they BELIEVE is the minimum to get the job done. After we cut hours all our various metrics fell. All except for one: sales. Prices went up too, mind.

In essence, companies do have standards but they'll absolutely skimp on labor and lower the standards if they find out they can get away with it.

This was a common theme when I was interviewing. I have a job now but what kind of experience is a 0 years of experience entry level position looking for? Hell, I would see job listing looking for new engineers with 0-3 years of experience and then require a PE license. And if you don't know, you have to have been working under another engineer, with a PE license, for 5 years and pass a difficult exam to get that PE license. The pay for the position was for a starting engineer.

I mostly feel lucky I even got my job because where I work they had about 50% of their engineering staff retire.

I don't need to convince myself that the boomers were the cause of all the problems we face today. They had to undergo constant war with the draft. So they resisted and wanted social freedoms. Can't fault them for that because I see that feeling still today even without the draft. The difference is millennials are not taking advantage of things given to them. They work for a an education and then a job that they end up quitting months later because they only want a leisure life. What ever "tolerance policies" we have today is nothing compared to how boomers were raised. You couldn't be a unwed woman with self sustaining job. As a man you always worked to support a family. You couldn't marry outside your race. The list goes on.

Probably (but not certainly) not true. Chances are much higher that it's from pregnancy and miscarriage. You'd be surprised how many pregnancies don't even survive the first period.

Microchimerism would be highly unlikely to affect germ cells (eggs in women), which are formed during development. In terms of leaking from mother to child it's possible, but the tiny amounts in the mother render it highly unlikely.

Promiscuity is degenerate and offers a lot of terrible outcomes for everyone in society, but i suspect this is not one of them.

do you think generations turn bad for no reason? if your looking to blame an entire generation your gonna be stuck in a loop of "its their parents fault, they should have raised them better."

Maybe. But for every social issue they tried to tackle, Boomers also tore down an economic ediface which helped the poor and the young. Killing unions and enacting NAFTA are the core of the Boomer economic legacy, and it's had the effect of absolutely gutting the American consumer economy. Which is short-sighted, really: All these Boomers own stock in companies which produce things (Silicon Valley excepted) but you'd never want to own a company which produces things if people can't afford to buy them.

Nothing really changed, but you know that whole thing about "rich people get richer" is totally true. I started saving early and the savings are just compounding on themselves now. It's really fucking unfair that the more you have the easier it is to make more. Fuck I probably made more off just my stock market account (which I don't even actively manage) last year then most of you clowns did by working 2000 hours.

Genes has nothing to do with social and economical standing. It has nothing to do with taking responsibilities and being forced to do something you don't want to do. Yes, being raised properly will help you in life to deal with those things. But being given something that your parents didn't have with more freedoms isn't something you should blame as the environment in which millennials take for granted and the very reason why they fail.

It isn't talking about illegals I think. Countries like the U.S. that have the power to pick and choose (i.e., Libya, mongolia, shitholes don't enforce borders) prefer legals because they pay taxes and can invest without fear of deportation.

Usually people only immigrate when they don't WANT to go back.

They also don't really get loans except for student loans maybe (and even then, I don't think it can be borrowed from Federal gov).

But yes, they can just go back home since we don't extradite for financial crimes.

Doesn't happen often though, if the loan is small then who cares and if it's big (house) then they won't leave without it.

>fuck I probably made more off just my stock market account
Stock marked is fucked mate, the FED lowered interest rates and fucked the return on bonds so now every one is going into the market instead. And corporations are borrowing money (low rent) to buy back their own stock and increase their ''value'' that way. You might reap some benefits but you are really just the winner in a huge ponzi scheme.

I mean look at all these tech companies. They do nothing but produce flashy youtube videos of products that they are planning on building in the future. They have produce nothing, they have jack shit in the terms of machines, technical know or anything else that matters but their stocks still go up and up. Same thing for other shit like tesla, snapchat etc. They are losing money but the stocks still go up. Why is that? Because the FED printed a lot of new money and people are desperate to dump it into something worthwhile, and the stock market is the only thing that is still giving a return.

TL;DR
You are playing with fire

Because a lot of us are worthless. Most others I know fall into the 51.8% catagory or the 18% with thousands of dollars in debt on some worthless degree. A lot o people actually bought into the genders study lesbian dance theory bullshit and cant find a job. I also know a few "empowered" woman who's female priviledge and """diversity""" quotas guarenteed them spots in STEM programs only for them to wash out after three semesters because they realized doing man's work is hard.

6.4% for me. About $17,000 raw, excluding assets like my bottom shelf $3000 car and another $2000 worth of guns and like $700 in ammo.

Invest in lead, winter is coming.

>I thought every one was in debt and if you had zero debt and 10 bucks cash you where better of then most people.

They didn't subtract debt from savings.

And for this kind of statistic they shouldn't. This is about how much people /save/. You can be in debt and have savings.

At that point you can have a debate on how critical it is to pay off your debt with the savings.. but that's not necessarily the case. For a lot of big loans people take, like education loans and mortgages they get really good long term rates on those huge sums.

Meaning that your 1000 dollar savings or even 20000 dollar savings isn't going to make a huge dent in that debt. Further, as to avoid more debt, you should have a savings fund that represents about 3 months of your expenses, should anything happen or a crisis develop (broken down car, etc).

As if this is new information. Fact is - higher risk = higher returns. There are still sound investments one can make... playing with tech companies is just stupid, and we've known this since the .Com crash.

The original post had a valid point - the system is stacked against the poor, and once you have money you can make more money easily. If you can manage a decent job once you are over 30 and you slow down you can actually start making money if you are not too stupid.

I wake up every morning depressed. I have to force myself to man up. My 7 month old makes me laugh. My post partum wife pisses me off. I drive a minimum of 45 minutes to work for a job I hate. On the way there shit heads try to kill me and act like it's my fault. I'm in It, there are no good jobs, just high turn over. I've never had a raise, I'm college educated with certifications and 15 years experience. My employers don't give a shit about me, they'll just hire someone else. I have a house. I have no hope for the future.

Money changes though it isn't Static.
I might have $200 today but next week I could have $20,000 so measuring money based on one instance is not accurately showing how much "millennials" actually have.

Although, many of these millennials seem to spend a lot of on useless shit like expensive clothing when they can't afford it. As for myself I spend too much on alcohol, can't seem to be able to shake my desire to drink.

If I were doing this study I would take in factors such as asset ownership, take different bank account readings in different sections of the finical, expenditure and potential earnings if they are currently studying.

Sounds like your dug yourself a bit of a hole.
Use what little time you have increasing your skill value to your employers or using your current job to help to gain another skill-set to use to get another job. Build yourself a portfolio of things you've done or projects you've finished.
Learning a bit of (non-meme) psychology to read body ques and the way people think may help you influence people to raise your income.

You also might want to try things that you can use to earn money on the side. If you can fix computers or cars offer to do it for friends or family if they have issues. I did lawn cutting for a while but obviously if you live in a urban area this isn't reliable.

I think it really boils down to your generation got all the good jobs and then they fucked up the economy. Owning no one is leaving the good jobs, there is little job growth, everything gets more expensive but no one is getting raises. Now we have a few generations of people who are screwed until your generation retires. But by then the markets will have shifted and they will be unqualified.
