As a straight white male I'm the most discriminated against in Britain. I've been a NEET for 8 years and I quickly gave up on vidya and television because it felt pointless, so I began searching for a meaning in life. First I started consuming loads of books and videos to find answers (I know Frankl was a kike but he said some helpful things), redpilling myself on various things in the process, until one day I decided to try my hand at some skill. Bought a shitty graphics tablet at 20 years old and started drawing for the first time, I was so bad that I thought I would give up on art in a month (generally I find it hard to finish projects). For some reason I persisted.. two months, six months, one year, two years, and so on, and now I've gotten decently good. I am a legit disabled person, and to be honest OP, your chances of getting disability are not good, if you were thinking of going that route. So many people try to scam them that it takes extreme documentation to prove disability if you have even an iota of function left to you.

The only way you're going to get disability is if you have a long treatment history and you have complied with everything in your treatment plan to a T. If you think you have some mental disorder that disables you, get into treatment immediately and apply in 3-5 years. Do any wacky thing your psychiatrist advises, including medication, hospitalization, and ECT. Obviously you won't be able to work during this time so make sure there is someone who will support you for at least 5 years while you go through this process.

After you have applied, about a year later you will get papers saying you are denied unless you are an obvious vegetable. Ask for a hearing. Hire a lawyer, they only get paid if you win. Submit your entire medical history as evidence. That includes the notes your psychiatrist has made, so they will know everything you have ever talked about no matter how embarrassing. They will send you to their own special psychiatrist for an evaluation.

The hearing is nerve-wracking, be prepared to answer extremely personal questions. They will ask you what you do during a typical day and how your disability effects you. They will question you on the specifics of things in your medical history. Hopefully you have a good lawyer and they can coach you on how to answer.

After this is all done you still might be denied and have to start all over again. Each time you apply it will take about 2 years.

If you win, the most you will get a month will be around 800 dollars. If you have no work history, you will be getting SSI not SSDI so any money you receive from any source will reduce your monthly amount.

21 year old white male NEET here.
Avoided working as long as possible:
Attempted A-levels, failed
Went to College
Went to University, dropped out in the third year (no student debt isnt "crippling" they dont even make you pay it back in Wales until you earn £21k/y)

I dropped out back in December and signed up for "universal credit" which currently pays about £257 a month, didn't run into any problems with "They wont pay you if youre white" or "Muslim single mothers only" they signed me on straight away.

It's not so bad, go to weekly meetings with your "Work coach" for 13 weeks and after that it drops to every 2 weeks, often they just do it by email as well so you dont even have to turn up.

You keep your own activity log to "prove" you're looking for work but I guess if you're a more determined liar than I you could game it very easily. My coach hasn't even looked at mine in weeks. Currently dragging my way through several applications for work so I have something to say at meetings (its pretty awkward when you have NOTHING to say and both of you know you're "ready to work").

Right now the only thing that will stop me being a NEET is if one of these applications actually SUCCEEDS by chance or the feeling of everyone asking you "Why don't you have a job yet" becomes to much. Make of that what you will.

unless you're a doctor or banker working is a waste of time and not worth the effort. entry level jobs don't pay well and the stress will destroy your health. Staying home and leeching is the smart choice.

I don't think there are too man NEETs of our caliber. I'm no longer NEET, but I was for 1 year at the age of 18. After my dad cut off my internet I could no longer play counter strike source, so I spent my time walking to the library and reading various books. I learned so much in that time, and became really good a making music. Now I have a good job (unrelated to music) with good income, but I still reminisce those days.

I've found out that threatening to kill myself is basically a golden ticket. Initially I just wanted to talk it over with my therapist but recently I've seen that social services doesn't demand shit and just hand out the neetbux under the threat of suicide.

I've been NEET for 3 years now, 16 to 19.

I don't really know what to do. I can't get a job because I have no experience and I have no education because I didn't go to college like everyone else at 16. I'm fucked.

This hit me out of nowhere only a few weeks ago. I was otherwise very happy with my NEET lifestyle, I'm well kept, happy and like a very isolated existence, but I want some achievements to my name.

Hey OP, I'm 27 too and I've been dealing with a lot of pulls to nihilism my entire life. I have no education, can't hold down a job, and all I do is play video games all day.

I am fighting to change that, though. I took up music, and I'm currently working my way through Jordan Petersons' recommended books list. So far, I feel its been a huge boon to my thought processing and how I look at the everyday. Because of that, I've started helping my wife out a lot more around the house, and am undertaking projects around here on my own. I've lost ten pounds since I've started, too.

It may not seem like much, and as it stands, I can't ever see myself making over 20k a year, but if I continue on the path I've set myself on, there is at least a chance that I'll happen upon something I'd love to do in life that would come with great responsibilities and a good paycheck that would allow me to be a good role model for my children.

If you want to be a NEET and can, go for it. It's just something I've had enough of.
