That could be said about animals if all animals of certain species acted the same when presented to the same situation, yet we can ovserve than even young offsping of the same species and litter have different responses and displays different emotions when exposed to the same situation.

Some kittens of a litter will display less fear and more curiosity to the unknown, others will display more fear and less curiosity. Fear, that's a feeling, and the subjectivity of individuals on what is scary or not is present, therefore they are sentient.
