The electoral college essentially takes power away from states which have a lot of it, and gives some of it to states which don't have much power. That is a form of socialism between the states.
Discus.
I worked really hard on this thread
Bump for 3 million more voters

It's works the other way around though in a winner take all system. You can win California by 1000 votes and get 21% of what you need to win the presidency and win Wyoming by 100000 and get just over 1% of what you need.

It's called federalism. There is no theft. The current federal government is overreaching, but that still doesn't make it socialism

When the fuck did Australia decide to use the electoral college for elections?
Oh. You are talking about America.
Going to discard your opinion now.
What is needed is a constitutional amendment to limit the size of a state, so that Commiefornia and Texas can split. That and the reintroduction of some kind of formula for the size of the house - which has grown too small.

The Electoral College is the only institution that prevents America from becoming a California+New York dictatorship. Remove it and you'll never see a Republican president elected again.
Yes, let's get rid of the electoral college, and let illegal aliens in California pick our President. They vote in mass numbers now despite California's electoral votes being a done deal, imagine a national popular vote giving them real incentive to show up at the polls. California's voter ID laws are laughably lax too.
Also, California counts votes agonizingly slow. Imagine an election where the Republican had a small but real lead, and each day it kept slowly dropping as more and more California votes were counted. Between that and the illegals, California alone kills the idea of a popular vote deciding the President.
Imagine the fraud accusations if we had a national popular vote that was really close. It would be Florida 2000 times fifty, with every state doing recounts and having ballots contested, etc.
