Had a stepfather for about 6 years, but other than that, no father.
We didn't have a lot of extra cash so I learned basic repairs on my own. Never called a plumber, electrician or any service people. lots of trial and error.
Same with cars/motorcycles. Self taught due to personal interest.
I suck at most video games and never had avacado toast, but I have no problem running 220 volts and a subpanel for the garage, or pulling cylinder heads for repair.

Times were different then. People fixed things rather than tossing them. Cars weren't so fucking complex that you needed a dealer for anything other than some parts.
Schools also had wood shop and metal shop where every boy learned to work with his hands. We got rid of those classes.

I do, but my parents divorce when I was six and my dad was busy working, fucking random chicks and boozing. Still is now.
Hardly ever talk to him ever since im like 14-15, am now 29. I dont have any big feelings for him. Most I feel when I see him is a giant emptiness and sadness about all the things I missed and how it fucked with me growing into a decent man.
Also envy at my 5 year old brother who had dad constantly around in the years where it counted.
