Is the alt-right a real thing or was it just a label group together various parts of the right by some common thread? Is it a real thing now after gaining attention?
I see more and more people identifying as alt-right although it doesn't have a strict platform. can we sort out what it means to be alt-right of have alt-right views? to me it seem like american identitarianism.

How about you do some fucking research and stop asking this question?
I think it has more to do with the left playing fast and loose with facts. I was a hardcore lib until this election cycle and so much light was shed on their corrupt nature. It pushed me further to the right, once you start taking the red pill you start seeing the shit spewing everywhere. Then you see SJW's showing their true colors post election and the rest of us that were pushed right definitely don't identify with that further pushing us right. Dems are going to need to do a ton of damage control if they have hopes of gaining back votes.

Here's an abridged version.
>white-nationalist think tank led by Richard Spencer coins term as a WN re-branding years ago
>nobody gives and shit and term is obscure
>attention whore from Breitbart Milo recoins the term for the emerging various internet subcultures including /pol/ that all intersect at hatred for modern leftists
>most of /pol/ tries to stay clear of the term because fuck branding
>Hillary spergs about about a cartoon frog and "exposes" the "alt-right"
>morons from reddit fall right in line and adopt the term like the morons they are, some here too
>kekistani cringe ensues as even some of /pol/ uses it non-ironically
So yes and no, pretty much. There's no cohesive movement of WNs like the media says, so the "alt-right" is bullshit. Because let's be real here. /pol/ legit has a lot of splintered factions with certain common overlap. Alt-right is whatever anyone wants it to be at this point, but the etymology is more or less accurate.

No shit, its a title they give non moonbats so everyone is sure they know who the bad guys are. Once you quantify and label your opposition its much easier to attack

You know a lot of that is wrong, right?
