On your interview, they literally only ask you about everything you put on your form after they make you swear an oath of honesty. They also use this time to clear up any questions they have concerning your interview. For example, I moved many times when I was younger and sometimes these moves overlapped with different jobs. Reading it on the form was confusing, so they just asked me to clarify the timelines.

So to reiterate, the interview is about your form. Nothing. Else.

I doubt it. Basically they are looking to verify the information you listed in the SF-86 you filled out. As long as you didn't lie on it and don't have major problems (like being a current illegal drug user or defaulting on a bunch of loans) you will generally be fine. The only other thing is that you need to be is considered trustworthy. Your personal views won't matter (well, they may color your investigator's personal opinion of you) as long as you aren't associated with a hate group or something of that nature, They also don't have any way to check what you post online. Even for a TS clearance or even an SCI/SAP, they won't be able to check your online participation history.

I held a TS-PV clearance prior to 9/11 madness. Process took about 6 months and wasn't too pleasant. The younger you are the better as you've got less baggage/history.

Like others have said, just be honest. When I did it, I had a drug conviction 6 years prior to going through the process for smoking pot. I thought I'd immediately be disqualified, but it was no big deal. Just gotta tell them about all the potential skeletons in your closet.
