Im sick of it (extortion), please help.

Ok, so here in Mexico is very common nowadays to be an extortion victim. bunch of mofos sell DBs including names and phone numbers and call you trying to intimidate you into giving them money.
So I went and get a brand new phone and gave out my info pretending to be a gullible prick to a shady looking dude working for an obviously fake promoting campaign.
For now all I have is this dude phone number from when he called me to "verify" some info. he had a whatsapp profile so i got his picture and phone number now.
anyway the plan is:
>wait for them to take the bait and start calling me
>gather intel and fuck with them
>after some decent intel is gathered just troll away
>if possible defraud them from their stolen money

Im pretty sure you can all give me some practical tips to gather intel or organizing a network movement for us to fuck them, after all you did found the labeouf flag. I summon your HFSE kind of knowledge!!!
I dont want you to just solve my problems but rather point me to where I can learn what i should to gather intel, not really a great hacker but neither a script kiddie, I am willing to learn what I have to.
Im thinking I might need to be a bit more subrepticious so after today I'll be going all whonix paranoid and shit, pretty sure this dudes are cartel related somehow.
Any help is appreciated, hope this topic stays alive or something
