I actually trade cryptos algorithmically on the side. I wouldn't invest in it long-term though since it's difficult to know which currencies will actually explode and which will be left by the wayside. If you could find a way to have a good diversified exposure to them (i.e by buying a weighted average and recalibrating every once in a while, like an ETF) then maybe it's an ok investment.
