The Make Movement- a movement where people use their free time to work outside
their profession- is a continuation of societal collapse.

Civilization exists because we rely on each other's specialization.

The Maker Movement is people thinking that they can do their hobbies better than others can do their jobs.

Bullshit, it is distributed production. Allows people to try out ideas that they otherwise couldn't get funding for.

Every day with this, huh? Did a maker steal your girl or something?

Making shit is awesome.
You are giving yourself the power.
Next you'll be saying bitcoin is anti-civilization

Deal with it OP.

This is an opinion we will se more of. The anti-tech idea has valid points.

Still i will keep my prusa mk2.

I have no idea what the offical census is on de-centralised manufacturing.

The term "Maker", like "content creator" is a red flashing light that a person is an idiot. Not only is it embarrassing, it's the worse kind of commercialization: "Maker" is an invented term promoted by Make magazine. It's equivalent to identifying as a Good Housekeeper because you watered your houseplants.

Well said, saving this.
What bothers me is that pollacks think that the maker movement is fighting the system...when infact they are simply being useful commercial idiots.
