I've been studying some of the math subjects I didn't take in college and now think that /pol/arizers should be dedicating some time to mastering at least statistics if not advanced topics like discrete math/computer science.

You don't have to fork over money to a university - there are many free avenues like MIT Open Courseware, or inexpensive ones like Dover Press reprints of old math books.
