Why are video games more prone to political outlash compared to other forms of media?
Most gaming ecelebs such as Milo, Pewdiepie, Jontron, Sargon, Anita, etc participates HEAVILY in politics. Why?

Just because they're the only people you focus on doesn't mean they're the only ones with a heavy political stance. You need to expand your horizons a bit more.
>>131390316
Because politics is the new trend with the teenaged gamers. Kek=wow=alt right
They are just cashing in on what's going on today.
Its the oldest move
>>131390316
because they get bored
Playing video games easily becomes one of the most boring and repetitive careers.

About 9 ten years ago, normies noticed video games getting popular, and a bunch of people tried to latch onto it.

Pretty sure Milo isn't a gaming e-celeb. Anita got into it specifically to make money because she knew that if she made a video saying a bunch of stupid and outlandish shit, on Youtube of all places, that she'd get a bunch of mean comments and could play the victim. Sargon, likes video games, and got popular being a "pro-Gamergate" guy.

Movies and music are popular as well, they make more money than video games and its not as politically sensitive as video games.

That's basically the point man. Video games gained a ton of mainstream popularity in a short amount of time, and people tried to hop on the industry because they saw all the potential for growth. Movies and music may make more money, but vidya is a multi-billion dollar industry that's growing consistently. Especially as growth in the movie industry is slowing.
As for politics, that sensitivity is what a lot of (((people))) are looking for. They realize that crafting the right kind of narrative and presenting stories combined with the right kind of game elements can be used to manipulate and indoctrinate a huge audience of impressionable young people. A big portion of /pol/'s involvement in Gamergate was revealing the relationship between certain members of the industry and DiGRA, who seemed to be promoting the use of games as a psyop tool.

Video games industry crashed once and by the looks of it with the dlc and DRM and punishing people for modding games they're about to crash again.
Yet, it's still the only form of media that i've seen thats so associated with politics.
