It's true, since our government got rid of social housing building in the 1980s the private sector has not built enough houses to fulfil demand.

Due to supply and demand, people simply cannot afford to buy houses anymore, and rents are absurd.

Whereas, in the US, you have loads of cheap land, cheap Mexican labour and more deregulation so the private sector seems to actually work.

It's soooo good to be us. You have no idea. Also, if I was studying at university in Britain I"d be looking into real estate development. There's a giant demand to be met. I don't know the ins and outs but from my view from 30,000 feet it would seem that real estate and construction is the way to make BILLIONS in the UK.
