Blogpost because I'm a faggot.

I managed to attend both the alt-lite and alt-right events, and I found both of them to be rather unimpressive. The alt-lite rally started out alright, Corey Stewart was there, and it was no different than any other conservative political gathering. Then the fucking larpy leprechauns and the fringe crazies showed up at around 12:30, and the whole thing degraded into a massive cringe-fest. Corey and the other dignified republicans got the heck out of dodge, and I felt embarrassed to be in the same vicinity of them. The only positive is that they were definitely more approachable than Spencer's group, and they seemed happier too.

Speaking of, Spencer's rally was definitely more aesthetic, but they were too somber, and most of the crowd seemed angry as well. There were people armed with sticks, shields, and makeshift armour, and it really scared some of the touristy types. Nobody responded to my group's attempt to strike up a conversation, and if they did, it was very awkward. The "hail victory" moment with the smoke was pretty cool, but only half the people in the crowd joined in on it. When the speech ended, everyone just disappeared as quickly as possible. No attempt to answer any questions from confused normies, no pats on the back or fraternal "good to see you again" moments, they just scattered, which is really suspicious.

Both of them sucked, and I felt like I was being watched the whole time.

I was there too famalam. They didn't just scatter at the end. People chilled and talked and were happy to talk with others. I approached a few of the sub-groups and chatted with them. I also walked out with one of the groups talking with them.

I agree that some of the battle gear probably scared some people, but I understand why they brought it. Although the chances of some Cali-fag riot happening on the national mall is slim to none.

I thought it was a good-sized group and a decent event. I thought it should have been more light-hearted and less yelling, but overall it was okay.
