I'm semi-new to /pol/ and I have always been confused about bitcoin; how does a digital currency hold value? I get people "mine" it with their computers and what ever; but what's the deal? redpill me on bitcoin.

how do I prove this isn't a bait/shareblue thread? I honestly want to know. also help me identify shills. I can't tell if people are shilling FOR or AGAINST bitcoin.

Money has value due to its ability to function as money:
Being safe
Being scarce
Being protected from counterfeit
Being easy to transfer
Being cheap to transfer and so on.
Bitcoin has all of these characteristics.
It is Sound money like no Fiat will ever be and will continue growing in value until a better alternative in crypto appear.
