i am aware our red nose pit is temperamental, so we keep her inside or in the fenced garden only and always watching her. never leave her alone with a kid even though she is amazing around the baby. the most dangerous thing she did was take food out of his hand at one point, but in a completely non-aggressive way as he was offering it to her

she bites during play with me, but knows to only ever lick the kid. she's never tried to bite him when playing, puts up with him pulling her ears and fur

i can give one loud command and she will cower and come to me, it has to be in a deep forboding voice that i only use for that reason. shouting at her aggressively doesnt work, nor does getting emotional which this kids mother does when trying to control her and failing

people misunderstand dogs, they are all easy to tame if they know you control water, food, when they shit and what happens if they do something wrong. once they know that you can potentially kill them, they won't argue with you

she was a hard dog to teach at first, but now shes just under 2 and is pretty smart and calm. she stops playing on command, has learned several obedience tricks and much more

not to say there are no downsides, if someone knocks on the door she goes crazy. she used to try rush outside when i opened it but now she stays behind me as i talk to whoever is there, she is a young dog though who isnt used to other people so that comes with time
