Remember Trumps campaign? He wanted to make a tough stance on China, and ease tensions with Russia.
Half a year into his presidency, and it is obvious that he has increased tension enormously with Russia(by following the advice of people that hate him) and softened his stance on China massively.
It's safe to say that Trumps foreign policy promises failed, and the establishment foreign policy has not only continued, but been amplified with Trumps election. Never before has the threat of a US-Russian war been bigger since the Cuban Missile Crisis.
