It is the only logical possibility that the universe was created by an eternal God. We know this because total nothingness cannot become something. Therefore, something must certainly have been eternal for us and the universe to be here.

You can either believe the universe itself is eternal, (which doesn't really stand to reason as everything in universe degrades and changes), or you can believe that a creative God is the eternal source of all things.

Literally everything proves the existence of God. Our morality, the ordered nature of the universe, our intellect and reason, and creation itself; which was clearly designed and could not have come about by accident.

If we were to come across a beautiful painting in a forest, with no person, paint brush, or paint around... Not even a single footprint on the floor, or anything to indicate anyone had ever stepped foot there. We could discern instantly the existence of an artist based on the painting alone. We could even discern certain things about the artist: whether he was skilled, his interests, his era, parts of his character... Etc.

The world is God's masterpiece.

I will try my best to help you as a Lapsed Catholic myself....w-wait you do have to follow the Pope eventhough you can critique him and denounce him if he goes against Church teaching. Either way Catholicism have this magisterium that helps you to interpret Scripture. Catholicism have the concept of the material sufficiency of Scripture though where everything necessary for Salvation is written and stated in there whether explicitly or implied.

Protestantism follow Sola Scriptura so you are essentially right though there are some complications since if you are an Anglican or Methodist, you would be following Prima Scriptura where Scripture is the first and main authority you seek which is then boosted by a series of secondary authorities around Scripture itself.

The bottom line is this; we must remain in communion with Rome whatever happens. The Catholic Church has had "bad" popes before, it has survived. The pope does not really create "new" teachings. The Pope clarifies things. All we need is in scripture, the church fathers, and the tradition of the Catholic Church.

Many Popes/saints/church fathers spoke of a great crisis, a great trail, a great apostasy from the Church... We may be going through that but we must remain in the Church Christ founded.

All things will work together for good in the end. Every evil will lead to a greater good, that is the wonderful God we very luckily have.

As a Catholic, you are obliged to accept all dogma as defined by the Church.
The whole "papal infallibility" thing simply means that the Pope has final say on all matters concerning dogma and teaching. It doesn't mean that the Pope can "vanilla is the superior flavour" offhand and all Catholics must accept it. That would be ridiculous.

The Pope can't say anything heretical or against dogma. That would be absolutely unthinkable.

Many Protestant run news sites want to paint the Pope as some crazy renegade and that the Church is crumbling from within. But that simply isn't true.
The Pope isn't a liberal who is overhauling everything. That is just media lies.

And yes, it is true that there are some critics of the Pope within the Church, but it's actually for the complete opposite reasons.

You could also start by learning the Our Father and Hail Mary. You will learn these by repeating from reading them many times. Save the attached image to your phone and you can read it from there, or get it elsewhere.

I would try and say the Our Father and Hail Mary once a day to start. Try to get in the habit of always talking to God. You will love it my friend!

Then you can progress to saying to Rosary, which is an utterly amazing meditatitive prayer. It is extremely powerful and I pray it every day. You can look online for instructions when you are ready.

Again, start slow, you will learn and grow in more ways than you could ever imagine.

I've been trying to get back into praying the Rosary every day but I have trouble getting "into it" like I used to be able to. Hey guys. I've just begun reading the Bible for the first time in my life (I'm in Exodus now).
