He had so many stories of just working hard and living in horrible conditions and working his way up. Besides alcoholism, the Irish at the time weren't involved in any real crime whatsoever. So is it specific cultures of immigrants that ruin countries, is it all down to race statistics or should free travel be allowed between countries of similar values and/or ethnicity, pol?
Why didn't he just get his papers?

Did the Irish assimilate? Yes. Did the Irish come work for slave wages and take the money out of the country? No.
Why are faggots so predictable

Ireland was so poor at the time, and he just went to a wedding that was supposed to be a 3 week holiday that turned into him staying in Chicago for years.

And still the people of his time thought your father was ruining their country, just like you think immigrants are ruining it today.
Irish is white. The USA was built for white men by white men. Nationality isn't as important as race, and the presence of illegal Europeans doesn't have nearly the same effect that 3rd world immigration does.
Your dad was capable of integrating perfectly with the American way of life, and yielding children who by any account are normal Americans. The same cannot be said about 3rd world shitskins. They never look like Americans. They will always be different from the American Ideal. They know this, so they cling tightly to their prior culture, and carry it forward indefinitely. They carve out enclaves for their culture and raise their children within a subculture that never lets them integrate.
Plus they're disgusting brown skin, brown eyes, black hair troglodytes.

Nah, the 1st generation immigrants of that era still formed little communities centered around their place of origin. They brought their nationalistic divisions from their countries over here. And while they had inter-community disdain for one another at first, they eventually just became Americans and intermingled perfectly. They were, after all, the same race.
The same cannot be said for other races. They wear their differences on their skin. They don't integrate. They never become true Americans. They'll always be a different type of person.
When you're in a multicultural shithole, your uniform is your skin. You can't ever stop being a representative of another kind.
Besides, the ethnic hatred of early immigrants is overstated. It wasn't the same thing at all. Our immigration policy was this: "All white men of good character". And Irish/Italian/Anglo/German/Dutch/etc were included in that. If there was really hatred for Irish, they wouldn't have included them.
