GATE just seemed like a good way to segregate the smart kids from the dumbfuck scrubs in 4th 5th and 6th grade. This would have been around 1995 for me. I went to school with all white kids and maybe one half mexican girl and one jewfag. I remember having a crush on another girl in the program and her mom would come and volunteer with the Gate kids (she's an uberlib now just like her mom was then). I think we would run through drills to study for some group test that we took on a new Mac computer (I remember learning some rhyme having to do with the Hubble telescope). We played a shit load of that 24 math card game and we all went on a camping trip at the end of 5th grade. Still faceberg friends with most of the kids and they're all fairly successful or have nice little white families, except for the jewfag, he's still a weirdo.
