How do you feel about automation like this /pol/? Low skilled people may have no jobs to fill in a few decades.

McDonald's saw that states were going to keep raising minimum wage so they decided to adapt. The libtards said the corporations would just accept the losses from the increased minimum wage and not do anything. Nope, they decided to replace all their employees with machines. This will eventually result in mass unemployment. Another problem could be that while McDonald's can invest in these machines, small business owners are completely unable to. They're the ones who won't be able to afford the $15 minimum wage and will go out of business.

When will we have automation/armor suits like the Forerunners have in Halo? Where all my body processes are maintained automatically and I can be free to just enjoy life.

Better yet, when will we come up with a technology that can replace everything every cell in my body does, every thought I have, etc.? These atoms in my body need to be free to pursue other endeavors like being dirt in the ground turning into rocks waiting for the universe to either dissipate into nothingness through entropy or it reverses somehow into a reverse Big Bang.

Refuse to use those machine

Same thing happened at my bank last week. Walk in, set up has changed now only two tellers, four have been closed replaced by screens just like in OPs pic

> a staff member goes through the queue asking people to come use the machines 'for convenience and to speed things up'.
> Everyone says, no we will use a teller ty
> she says 'line up goes out the door, someone please come use our new system, its not fair you're making people wait unnecessary'
. this pisses people off even more
> lots of groans and even a wtf
> arguments ensue, customers saying all sorts of things, biggest comment everyone makes 'employ more staff'
> feel sorry for the girl, having to promote a new system that will shortly replace her.
> I tell her I will always use a teller out of principle, don't want to be part of the reason she loses her job
> she trots out a line I know head office have told her to say 'no anon, my job is to give you more choice by helping you do the job yourself'
> tell her it makes no sense and hope her next job is with a decent employer that cares for their staff and customers
> everyone agrees, someone says 'hear, hear'

Tldr: fuck I hate automation

The fact of the matter is that within 15 years there will be no jobs period, or reason to work.
Everything will be automated, monetary systems will be replaced with some sort of socialist-like system that will grant people free housing, utilities and all your food will come from Amazon Go, which will be free.

welp, make the machine an offer for the green bean price by typing in the bean code (think its 4070 or something). if the machine accepts your offer, kudos.

also, turn off the machine volume because the machines tend to yell whatever youre scanning

A supermarket chain in my area spent a ton of money replacing most of their checkouts with self checkouts.

After a couple years of having almost nothing but self checkouts, they went back to the old system of regular checkouts. They found that the self checkouts was actually slower than a cashier + bagger, and they were losing business because of the long lines

A have a hunch something similar may happen with this, because people are fucking stupid.

Not even kidding, the next phase of fast food are robotic, self-driving food trucks. Take Momentum Machines' automatic burger technology, drop it into a standard truck, apply self-driving technology.
Why deal with the possibility of failing franchises when you can have a fleet of fast food trucks that shift based on demand from day to day, or even perform delivery.
>>
>>131124345
Pol says jobs are disappearing and then criticizes people who work jobs like this full time
>>
>>131123406

while people should be paid a wage that doesn't require you to be on welfare and shit, businesses shouldn't be forced to pay more for workers if they have a legitimate option to just replace them with tech

the minimum wage is too low, but that's not the problem. the problem is that we have too many fucking people here and we keep bringing in more, when we need to fill less jobs and we have massive housing shortages in literally every major city

complaining about the minimum wage is short-sighted small-picture bullshit, and it allows people to just ignore the big picture altogether.
>>
>>131123406
>if we stop letting immigrants in the labor pool shrinks
>if we deport illegals the labor pool shrinks
>if white women stay home and raise children the labor pool shrinks

>suddenly men are being hired at fair wages
>suddenly western women are having kids in nuclear families
Automation is unavoidable. The best thing to do is to at least avoid an over saturated labor market so the jobs that remain once the low skill stuff is automated are at least well paying and benefiting the citizens of the nation.

there are plenty of jobs out there for people without skills. for example, a lot of factories and warehouses hire drug addicts, high school dropouts and ex-cons. they are willing to train you too. people are without jobs mostly for these reasons:
-they are unwilling to work a job outside of their field of study
-they are unwilling to work a job for less money than they became used to prior to job loss
-they are unwilling to do physical labor
-they are unwilling to move to a new location
-they are unwilling to take a job search seriously
-they just dont want to work a job

we don't need mcdonalds
>>
>>131122123
automation is inevitable with or without wage change
why wouldn't a business take advantage of technological advances
>>
>>131121953
And this is why you don't demand $15 minimum wage. Chances are, those obnoxious niggers and wetbacks demanding $15 are the first to get fired. And the beneficiaries of this would be the few whites they keep on board.

And those same niggers and wetbacks would be back tomorrow to buy their McChickens and shit.
>>
>>131121953
It's worrying. With previous advances in technology people could just specialise, with this an entire IQ ranges work is being automated (with that range increasing with no stop in sight). Idiots and kids need work too, they can't do complex tasks.
I think when automation hits a high enough point (assuming society hasn't crumbled or solved this problem) the rich will start purging what would essentially be welfare leeches.
Shit even I'm not safe and I'm a software dev (albeit a mid to low-tier one), recent AI have been able to steal code from other programs, they've created an indian that doesn't need to poo.
>>
I'd much rather use that than talk to some black birch who Jacks up my order and I have to help her fix it. Then God forbid you give them cash and they have to try to figure out how to count and give you change back. I'm all about the automation. I always use self checkout too.

When the automatic loom and shuttlecock was first shown to Louis the XVI, he refused it from being used in the work force, because he thought it would cause mass unemployment in the industry.

Textile production went to Britain where such automatic textile factories are allowed to operate. Because textile was hand-made back then, the cost of a shirt, in today's money was hundreds of times higher.

Automation increases supply, which decreases cost, which increases consumption.

Now imagine this being applied to food, or any other necessity. Luddites are justifying world hunger. It's like they want to dig holes to fill them back up again.

Wew lad get an education that makes it so you can work a job over mcdonalds clerk level which literally any teenager can do. If you think you're supposed to go your entire life without improving your skills or know how in any way then ofcourse you're going to be outphased by automation.

It only effects very very few jobs, also i've seen those machines and they had 2 clerks along with 4 of these machines. It just speeds up the order.

Also do you realize how few 2500 are it's a drop in the frigging ocean..

Redpill about minimum wage jobs, they are so unskilled a teenager can do them which is the entire point, minimum wage jobs have always been student jobs or shit you do whilst waiting for a real job opportunity since they a) don't pay much b) requires almost no prior skills, you're not supposed to be 40 or 50 years old and work at mcdonalds unless you're a franchise manager or whatever.

I just can't understand why people are butthurt about this shit.. Should we go back to washing all your clothes by hand because washing machines make things easier? Delete the evil washing machines fucking burn them so we can have minimum wage jobs so functioning retards in their 50's can wash other peoples clothes by hand.

You are not supposed to provide for a family on a minimum wage job.. PERIOD. You're supposed to work minimum wage jobs for a short time then get replaced with another person in similar position as you move on to a more proper job.

when do you realize people arguing for UBI are just people who aren't interested in working a single day of their life, but expect others to pull their weight aswell as their own.

It's always the same bullshit arguments about automation of the most simple minimum wage jobs, and it's always followed with calls for ubi/legitimization of permanent neetdom.

You already have ubi it's called welfare, where you sit on your ass and still get to buy food and other stuff. UBI is just an attempt to raise the welfare ceiling to an actual job with no demand that you actually work at any point.

Just imagine all of africa on ubi funded by everyone else in the world. All that increased demand for all kinds of goods and services by people who don't produce or manufacture a damn thing themselves would fucking crush the market increase scarcity and lower everyones standard of living globally. But this is what these idiots want apparently without thinking it through..

Just a billion people not producing a damn thing but going out and spending money they didn't earn on buying stuff for themselves produces by others who actually do the work.. You can't fucking do that don't you idiots realize that. If you want input you have to also have to have output!

Also can you imagine the burden of welfare migrants if you add UBI, these people who already don't want to work will literally just illegal immigrate sit their ass down, do nothing and expect you to work 5 times as much for life just to get by.

Supply in this sense would be the amount of possible "service" that could be done.

Think of it with an ATM and bank tellers. An ATM can service way more customers at a faster rate than bank tellers.

>The "automation is good" meme will end once programming is reduced to a minimum wage job, then automated, as the tech hipsters so smug in their security lose their jobs like everyone else

My sisters husband is a trained process optimization engineer. You tools have no idea how hard it is to automate shit, you have two categories where you can do it, certain things involving computers, and very simplistic and repetetive jobs/hard labour jobs involving constructing various parts. (aka minimum wage jobs). That's about it buddy.

If you went back in time you retards would feel threatened by washing machines.

This illusion where you think everything can be automated is just that. And years of this larping and what do you come up with.. 2500 glorified ATM's at mcdonalds.. OMG EVERYONE IS GOING TO BE OUT OF A JOB..

Just admit that you don't want to work a day in your life but still expects to have same living standard as everyone else who do. That's all this bullshit is about.

Technology helps to make things easier, it's lightyears away from replacing everything. And if it does then you're in a post scarcity situation anyways with robots running around doing everything for you, so who the fuck cares and you'll have maintenance and involved in all kinds of other professions there will always be jobs.

Just face it.. the more advanced society becomes the more requirements there are for intelligence. You can't have dumb people and an advanced society at the same time. And there will always be some kind of manual things at any point even in a fully robotized society lot of more complicated things are much better done manually.

Technology has always been an aid not a replacement.

Meh they're just parasites taking advantage of what other people made.. those who made it deserve to have it.

>black races do all the grunt work
Implying they even want to work in the first place.. they sit down don't do shit and pretend they are oppressed for not being good enough to have jobs.

Jews are more like glorified neets who through subterfuge put themselves in top due control of the finances which is the reward system for a job well done and making sure they get a big piece of the pie of the hard work of others.

Only ones that seem to be pulling everyones weight aswell as innovating etc. to make things easier to do seem to be white people. You're acting like africa is some massive industrial country.

Asians are massively overrated in this aswell imo.. they essentially just pilfer what white people have created, they are pretty good mathematically and in discipline but innovatively not so much. Their inventions is mostly taking something white people made or that is made in white nations with our educational systems and know how, and putting a different spin on it.

Take the example of the segboard. A cheaper segway without the handle and stick for balance and control that they can sell cheaper but so that you're standing like a moron and have less balance on. Massproduced by chinese company. ITS INNOVATION MATE..

Actually a good point yeah, all these immigrants will just become an even bigger burden but white people will be just fine except ofcourse having to pay through their nose to fund all these welfare people who can only work the most simple of minimum wage jobs which are essentially the only ones that automation or technological advancements actually threaten.

People complaining that their life is made easier for them by technology are really frustrating for me, they would rather have a low tech society where you need 50 people to move a container instead of a truck loading it up on itself with a grip. It's literally at that level these people are arguing. So instead of themselves advancing and improving their skillset, the entire civilization has to go to a grinding halt so they can work shitty jobs they don't even want to work in the first place. Don't tell me they aren't interested in never working at mcdonalds and that they wouldn't have a higher paying job.. ofcourse higher paying jobs/more complex jobs require more skills, nobody is going to pay you for doing jack shit. Neither would they if they were the employer.

Also these UBI calling neets would never start their own companies or invent a damn thing or anything ofcourse. They're just a bunch of tards screaming at people who have businesses that they want to be paid more for doing less complicated things, only problem is you can't run a business like that unless you want to go bankrupt really fast.

tl;dr automation is a white thing to make their lives easier, low tier people migrating to white nations are ofcourse not interested in that because there goes the excuse for even bringing a single one of them in.

At the end of the day people are interested in having people who know how to do shit.. competence always outshines ethnicity. And whites tend to be very competent which ofcourse pisses some people off.

But incompetent non whites tend to excuse their incompetence with "oppression" all the time which is really frustrating, yet if one of them is super competent.. nobody has a frigging problem with that person, it's just nice to have a colleague who know how to do their shit instead and at that point little concern is given about what color of skin they have.

But instead they want race to go before merit, so they insist you hire them cause they're not white to "balance things out" but who the fuck wants to insist on working with incompetent people? nobody i know.
>>
>>131132816
Well a business must profit and small restaurants operate on a small profit percentage, large groups as McDonalds does increase their percentage. Most minimum wage employees think a restaurant owner makes big money. Actuality they are stretched thin. Some franchise owners are forced to take these upgrades which cost them. Its not an easy life to own one of these places. The automation is more beneficial than dealing with burger flippers.
>>
>>131132303
Also it amazes me that like one of the things automation and technology and robotics does especially in construction is let machines do things that would in the past cause many work related deaths or be extremely hard on your physique and back etc.

So they would rather risk getting killed doing a very dangerous job for very low wage, than not having that job available and improving their skillset to a safer but more complex slightly higher requirement job..

Sort of like
>i'd rather stay extremely dumb and incompetent and live my worklife on the edge than trying to get a little smarter, don't take my low requirement low wage job away or i won't be able to get a job.

I just don't understand these people, even if you are like really dumb, with enough effort you can do a pretty complicated job pretty well, you just might not learn it as fast as someone else but hey.. you can still learn to do it.

McDonalds is a large enough group to handle the problems. That is why you see the scaled integration instead of full force. Once the public educates themselves it will just snowball.
Atm's now have made the bank teller irrelevant. Ten yrs ago most people went into the bank for certain things that are now all easily done by the Atm. Less employees are needed.
>>
>>131133535
Another thing that also drives automization and technology aside from making tough things easier is OVERPOPULATION in non white countries. It's HIGHLY overlooked a factor. Why? Because it increases the global demand for various things ofcourse! Some of the things holding that somewhat down is that they don't produce anything for themselves and thus haven't earned the right to have similar demand as an advanced western society per capita but they still have a lot of demand for various things as do many many other countries.

But the UBI retards would rather give entire africa UBI and crash the entire civilizaton with the added demand.

If there were less demand there would be less pressure for automatization of low tier jobs aswell because the businesses wouldn't be pressured to keep up with the demand and having to work at robot speed. Ofcourse automation and advances in technology would still occur at a gradual pace to make things easier for everyone. But not at the same pace. And still regardless of pace it's only actually very few job sectors we're talking about, aka the very low skilled jobs and some elements of industry and fabrication for the most part.

These UBI calling neets don't realize that you need to CONTRIBUTE something if you want to take something out.. Otherwise the whole thing falls apart.. You would also have less wage deflation if everyone pulled their own weight, the slave labour in china for instance is in many ways a response to keeping up with all this increased demand because so many nations aren't pulling their own weight! And those that aren't pulling their weight simultaneously have a SHITLOAD OF PEOPLE that all want/need something without putting much out themselves..

It's really a childish notion to think that you can just sit on your ass and do nothing, how do they expect things to get done? fucking magic?

If you were paying attention they don't even replace them fully, they just speed up the order and few even use them unless there's a queue. I've seen a mcdonalds store who has them who apparently weren't magically fired.
Just read the thread shitter, automation only effects very few jobs that are of low skill requirements or some dangerous repetitive industrial jobs. Technology ultimate can lead to a post scarcity situation where all global farmland is for instance 100% maintained to peak perfection etc. and so on and so forth. I think that's ultimately the point of technology to make things easier for us so we don't have to meaninglessly struggle to do very simplistic tasks when it can be done easier which relieves us so we can focus on more complicated things and so on.

The stuff i described that you're referring to about "destroying species" which i didn't say is an unintended side effect of globally people not pulling their own weight which leaves some that do to having to hyperoptimize to keep up with the demand. If globally people pulled their own weight (which this technology can also be a tremendous help with) it would happen far more gracefully.

So these UBI cunts then decide they want to pull EVEN LESS weight whilst increasing their demand arbitrarily eventhough they don't want to increase their competence, which just exhasterbates the problem.. let's say they got their wish with UBI.. what would happen? Higher taxes even fucking more pressure on companies to automate low paying jobs and only keep the jobs that are worth paying for. Or they would go out of business..

´the problem is not automation or technological progress it's people refusing to pull their own weight and simultaneously being massively overpopulated in areas not pulling their own weight which is the very reason they are poor and these things to begin with. And also RESISITING that things are made easier for everyone at expense of low skilled jobs.

Technology is raising the lowest common denominator and these people are saying "No you can't do that cause i don't want to improve in any way.
>>

This. If you can explain that to me then let me know! It's a fucking total disaster to argue for in a non post scarcity situation.. None of these cunts can explain it they just know they want UBI cause "equality" or some shit.

The cunts claim we're in post scarcity situation because of some atm's to speed up the orders at mcdonalds.. And then they want UBI, maybe they should take a fucking look around in the world.. Does it look post scarcity for you, UBI will just completely tank anyone who implements it as national policy. Massive amounts of people on welfare is bad enough and crippling enough as it is.

Some surgeries can be somewhat automated because a machine obviously don't risk having a wobbly hand.

>Pilots? replaced by drones.
Top kek the drones are to risk casualties if they are shot down or whatever it's just a hunk of metal that's lost.

>small shops replaced by online distributors
Hard competition a lot of demand pushes the prices down and crushes smaller distributors sure. But that's ultimately price competition and many people aside from that still prefer to go into a shop and pay a little extra to talk to a person but ofcourse with things like hardware not having a middleman like a store clerk whos wage is added to the cost of the product. but the small stores still survive in many cases by offering repair of computers and many other things. Online hardware computer retailers has been a thing for a decade now. And a small shop near me still manages to survive pretty well through that entire thing, even expanding. They just adapted to including repair and other things and giving advice etc. adapting to the situation.

It's just the usual larping by you faggots pretending robots and automation is replacing every job and there's no need for people to do anything, literally all the examples you mention have human controllers. Small scale surgery automation, guided by the surgeon who can step in if things fuck up. Drone, controlled by a drone controller. Small shops eventhough ofcourse in fierce competition with online retailers on price alone still survive by offering other serves.

You are not living in post scarcity situation you are not getting your fucking UBI which would crash the economy of any nation that implemented it. >Low skilled people may have no jobs to fill in a few decades.
Low skilled people will definitely have no jobs to fill in a few decades.
Driving, for example, is a huge form of employment. All driving will be done by AI by the end of the century at the absolute latest. It's not just low skilled people that have to worry, however. Many highly skilled people will also be losing their jobs. 100 years from now, most jobs that people currently hold will be obsolete.

We are going to have a world soon with well over 10 billion people, the vast majority of which will have no purpose in life but to consume. That is a simple fact. What the movers and shakers of the world plan to do about it is the question. They basically have two options.
1. They give everyone universal basic income and pacify us with electronic entertainment and estrogen mimickers in our food while we all sit around existing merely to eat.
2. They begin serious population reduction programs to reduce the number of useless eaters. This doesn't necessarily mean violence. We already have relatively little control over what's in our food and most developed nations now have mandatory shots for children. It would be very easy for them to sterilize several billion people without anyone realizing it right away. The population could be reduced by 50%+ in a generation by launching vaccination initiatives in Africa & India and lacing the shots with a sterilizing agent, for example.

I think it's literally the definition of progress for society. A Kiost was fast, never forced me to speak Spanish, and has never fucked up my order proving it's always the idiot cashier's fault. I've also never had to argue with one about change. It also has a better menu and requires constant UI updates and menu changes. Mc Donalds hired thousands of engineering and technical installation folks across the country a few years back for testing all this. It balances out, handles rush hours better, and helps keep costs low.

Or would you prefer we go back to manual farming just because it takes more people to do the work?

You forget option number 3 which is what is being attempted which make all these shitty nations self reliant and self producing of many of their products to fill their own demand by getting them up to atleast 2nd world level infrastructure.

But definately non western countries need to cut back seriously on child production, it's part of why they are poor and have low living standards per capita in the first place.. Their society can't fucking scale with that many people when their infrastructure is already shitty to begin with..

That's what westerners do well, they know not to just baloon their populations to zeppelin size if they barely have enough to feed themselves to begin with. And the solution isn't to mass immigrate them into the west to implode our societies aswell..

It's a selfmade problem by them! They need to take steps to sort it out. 1 child policy is long overdue for these societies.

You pretty much nailed it, what about cotton picking by hand, YO BLACK PEOPLE YOUR JOBS ARE COMING BACK! AREN'T YOU HAPPY?

Ofcourse if you did that things would also be correspondingly expensive since the labour cost is added to the price of the product. So they would be worse off. And we'd go back to post industrial standard of living per capita.

These people have no idea how much technology has improved their standard of living and overall ease of living, they just see it as bad because apparently it's too much to ask for them to learn to do something else. Than a few very low scale jobs made easier with technology.

Even if they did cost (24*7*30) $10,800/month. They don't need a manager. They don't call in sick. They won't stab a customer for disrespecting them.

The truth is that an 65" TV cost less than a $1,000 and those machines probably need little more than a high powered cell phone ($1,000) to run. Maybe another thousand bucks for the contraption to hold them and another grand for the card swiper. With the volume discount, probably less than $4,000/machine. Turn that into an hourly rate, 4,000/24/30 and it costs them maybe $5.55/hour, and that's if they replaced them in their entirety every single month (they won't need to).

You know what the funnies thing is? By filling in the captcha to post on 4chan, you're helping to build an algorithm for self driving cars and make truck drivers obsolete. Has anyone on here stopped to think why all of the captcha images are cars and street signs?

That's because some Silly Con Valley programmers are collecting these labeled captcha image data and using it to teach computers how to recognize stop signs and cars. We're basically doing grunt work for free and they're profiting off of us One post at a time.

>This is because most of them are scared that they'll be replaced as well at some point. Truck driving is the most common profession among working class white men in this country and those jobs will be gone within 10 years.

This is what you idiots believe, every fucking ubi caller and automation larper completely overestimate how difficult it is to automate shit, and things like transportation will never be fully automated. Self driving massive trucks for global transport is such a fucking meme, wait till one major accident happens due to sattelite failure or whatever once they beta test it and they'll pull the plug on the whole fucking thing.

Besides do you think truck drivers can literally do nothing else than drive trucks and can't be retrained for another job position, fucking hysterical you people are.

Technology makes things easier, some things are feasible some things like automating all transport logistiscs globally is not feasible. and definately will not happen even on a large scale within the next 10 years.

It can be good for some isolated situations though, so the technology does have merit in some instances. But that's the same with a lot of these things..

You idiots continue to think we live in some post scarcity situation in 10 years.. blacks would've feared this a few hundred years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHE82R4i2Vo but aren't they glad they don't have to do that?

Technology simply raises the lowest common denominator and make high risk and repetitive jobs easier so we can focus on doing other things, there will always be jobs, the jobs just change in what you do.

You cunts would rather have civilization grind to a halt than learning a new profession. or having less jobs in that particular variant due to technological aid.

I don't know anyone scared of automation, but i can understand that if you think so low of yourself that you think you can't learn to do something else, well then i guess i feel sorry for you.

>This is why robo-communism is inevitable.
You mean post scarcity. UBI is ONLY relevant in post scarcity situation and even then it might be irellevant because at that point you have to consider if you even want to have a currency based system whatsoever. Our civilization is lightyears away from that it's just wishful thinking on peoples parts.

Our current civilization can't afford a bunch of asshats who think they don't have to work to produce goods and services. You would need something like 60% of all jobs fully automated to even debate weither or not you should have UBI. Because it would only be around that point that you would run into potential problems with regards to unemployment that isn't just downright lazyness and lack of motivation to learn a different profession. And even then just the professions will be retooled and reshaped so you would be focusing on many other things. We would probably venture off world at that point for instance. People think if we had so much advanced robotics and even full ai doing shit for us, that we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves but to sit on our ass and drink beer and whatnot, are just kidding themselves.

UBI in a non post scarcity situation just leads to collapse. Too much demand too little output.

It's simply peddled by people who want to have permanent welfare and high standard of living without having to do shit for it themselves. UBI promoters are like welfare neets on stereoids making any fucking excuse for why they haven't expanded their skillset.

It's actually the other way around. People with actual wealth don't care if people are disenfranchised or not and we're the ones who control whether you're employed or not. Has nothing to do with people being lazy, we know full well we can continue accruing more wealth while the middle class becomes poorer. Or are you just pissing on coal miners because you see them as less fortunate than you.
Well if coal mining gets fully automated sure they should go learn something else. THAT'S what i mean about learning something else.. some jobs are shitty but they all needs doing, and technology and automation can help with making shitty jobs obsolete..
>>131141842
>Ahahah, and aren't you glad black unemployment has skyrocketed and they all virtually live off the tits of the American tax payer?

Pretty simple shit
They're already putting rock truck drivers out of work at large corporate mines
Bulldozers and excavators are next
Even where they can't go 100% automated, one guy can sit in a simulator booth and run 6 machines at once
Sure he gets paid a little more than your average operator hourly, but he has a super cushy job. Not wearing out his body, not risking a fall getting in and out of the machine. Doesn't have to live at a remote mine site, away from his family.
Driving over the road vehicles, including tractor trailers, is real fucking simple compared to operating massive shovels, dozers and rock trucks.
Especially once you cut out having to get in and out of truck stops to park for down time, etc. If all you're looking at is pick it up, fuel, drop it off, pull in for maintenance, it's nothing. Look at the tech Tesla has now. You think there isn't way more advanced tech for commercial applications underway?
A jumbo jet is way more fucking complicated than a big rig, and they are capable of taking off, flying, and landing completely automated by themselves.
Mines are saving 15% on their ENTIRE transpo, meaning moving shit from digging up to ready to ship out on a tractor trailer or rail car, just by going to automation, and that is with the cost of the new robotic trucks INCLUDED.
Anyone who thinks their OTR trucking job is safe, is a bit slow in the brain department.
Do you even understand what Quality Cost Per Ton Efficiency means?
If I were in that situation, I would be investing in Komatsu and Tesla and fast

Chess is extremely easy for a computer because the game has patterns that are completely predictable that's why it has been used to illustrate "ai" for a long time, eventhough it has little to do with it. It's just has in memory a grandmaster chess book with all possible variations and how to counter them fed into it.

Yes they are, it's a matter of putting in the effort to learn something else. Even the most dumbest person can be trained to do complicated tasks way above jobs threatened by technological innovation/robotics, it just takes them longer to pick up than others.

It's a matter of motivation and availability of retraining. Not even a fucking problem if that's there.

As long as those jobs are available, which is the key part which is not due to automation but shipping jobs overseas with regards to the US.

Cunts like you who have such a pathetic view of the world and other people in general, constantly conflate automation with jobs being lost to other countries.. aswell as those countries stealing them by sleight of hand like china, instead of producing their own and creating their own businesses and industries etc. they make western companies and others move and setup shop THERE, in essence a game of musical chairs.. This is due to them not being self sufficient with their own companies and businesses which is the biggest problem with job losses, because when they don't have their own companies and industry etc. they constantly have to take them from somewhere else.

if all nations were self sufficient in that way, this thing wouldn't happen whatsoever. The automation/technology argument is just a ruse to cover this shit up since all it does is make complicated things simpler or replace very repetitive tasks. Freeing up people to essentially do other things.

You should get on a small little plane and preferably crash into the middle of the fucking ocean with no survivors faggot.

Well duh, people have expenses and they tend to track with what they made and are worth in the marketplace. Most people would be ok dropping even 5k but you can't go from making 50-60k a year to 20 and expect people to be able to live and support a family.

>they are unwilling to take a job search seriously
It is easier than ever to apply for jobs so I don't know exactly what you mean by serious. If they're milking unemployment and filling out the bare minimum applications to stay on it then I agree.
>they just dont want to work a job
Again anecdotal, you have to realize job seekers are competing against hundreds if not thousands of applications that come in daily or weekly online for these positions. Fuck I've been applying to places and it's so retarded out there they're asking for a bachelor's degree to be a low level phone monkey. I apply to everything that is somewhat in my wheelhouse but some of these jobs are literal retard level with the qualifications they're asking for.

Low-skilled people can't afford to properly start a new business, especially considering shit like raising the minimum wage the gov is doing, making it more and more expensive out of the gate.

You're fucking naive if you think small business is going to save the poor people. It won't, shits only going to get worse because everything at this point is converging on full pleb removal from the workforce.

There aren't enough government retraining programs and not enough jobs for all the truck drivers and fast food workers and retail workers that are all going to be replaced.

You're naive. Why don't you hop on board your private jet and do some deep-sea diving, fucking faggot.

>we're talking about making things easier for people so they can focus on doing other things instead.

Easier for whom? What other things are we to focus on?

A light bulb went off when I read this book by (((Tyler Cowen))), pic related. Growing up I believed the bullshit that better technology would give us the power to uplift humanity. Nothing could be further from the truth.

See what i mean, it's funny coming from a million dollar trustfund kid who thinks he's the shit but without it he would probably be in risk of losing his job from mcdonalds. You literally can't make any proper argument without larping about how great you think you are and how shit you think everybody else is, your bullshit isn't even relevant to the conversation.. just excuse yourself and go ask your mom and dad for some money for a little cesna or whatever and go fly it straight into the ocean.

Where I live all the "people" working these customer service jobs are niggers. I wish I had the option to use an automated kiosk everywhere.
>>
>>131121953
Literally not even a problem. There will always be a need for low skilled labor.

>There aren't enough government retraining programs and not enough jobs for all the truck drivers and fast food workers and retail workers that are all going to be replaced.
That's the problem, which i already stated.

Already went over this. Essentially if the jobs are there but they currently can't do them, It's a matter of motivation and availability of retraining. Not even a fucking problem if that's there.

If it's not there simultaneously with all the rest of the things happening, ofcourse you got yourself an issue. But that has nothing to do with
>hurr durr people can only do one thing if they lose their minimum wage job you kill them since they can never do anything else
Which is what some cunts ITT are saying.

Ofcourse it's a massive problems when no jobs are there, but that's not due to technology/automation stuff, that's due to the whole siphoning off of jobs to other countries.

What i'm saying is IF the jobs are there, EVEN IF THEY CAN'T DO THEM RIGHT NOW they can learn to do them.. That's the key issue..

That the sneaky trade deals china made etc. that allows them to siphon off US jobs for instance and set them up in china instead ofcourse throw a wrench in that whole thing, is ofcourse unfortunate.

people constantly blame the wrong thing when they talk about loss of jobs, automation/technological aid isn't the big problem with this. It a small cofactor in comparison that would barely be visible if the other things weren't happening at the same time. And can easily be mitigated by retraining the people who lose their professions to this.

Good.

Losers working at McDo dont get to halt technological progress. That is letting the dumbasses of society hold the smartest back.

Teenagers should volunteer at hospitals and do more self productive things than flip burgers for alcohol/clothes/pussymagnet/marijuana money

We moved from farming to factories with the first mechanisation, we moved from factories to a service economy last time. Where the fuck is there to go? people only need so many services. half the jobs now are just fluff already.

Making large changes requires managerial and executive effort - that doesn't happen quickly, for small changes in profit. People are lazy everywhere.

Not knowing what a godsend this is to farmers and their massively long work hours, yet you think this will make farmers go out of business?.. fucking kek. Also the ROI on that is probably pretty extensive too but probably worth if it they can work out the kinks.

It's not much different than a self driving vacuum cleaner though that can free up your time to do other things. but also has some setbacks in various ways.

a lot of you are failing to realize that AI will be able to take over a lot of the jobs sucking in all the money soon, and that the people currently holding them can not pay enough to prevent it from happening, AI is bringing us into an age where we dont need jobs, this isnt a good or a bad thing, its just different, we will adjust as a society and there will be lots of bumps, and all we can do is try and make it as smooth a ride as possible
