Peterson is doing many things, but they mostly fall under one larger header: He is expanding people's models of the world. There are many people who knew things were wrong, or that they disagreed with something, but they never had the words and arguments to say why, or to offer an alternative. It is not just that they didn't have a counter narrative; they were stuck living in the enemy's model of reality, so no counter narrative could form. Peterson is telling stories that allow people to look at the world in different ways, and find models that align better with them than deconstructionist modernist and post-modernist bullshit that the young have been raised with.

Peterson is countering the 1984 style of control of people by controlling and limiting language. The stories and ideas he is presenting are not specifically new or original, but he is performing the very valuable service of bridging the gap between traditional knowledge and views of the world with our current neutered and politicized worldviews. This lets people escape.

Criticizing him for not offering some new facts or arguments misses the point. He isn't trying to offer new facts, he's offering new context. He is demonstrating the very idea that you can switch your context, which is new to most young people. And he is offering tools to help people navigate, explore, and form new contexts.

In other words, stop trying to tear the man down because what he's doing doesn't fit into your model of value. Bucko.

It is true, Peterson isn't really our guy. He describes himself as a liberal, and is either resisting redpills or hiding his power level. But that doesn't mean he isn't helpful to us.

A lot of what he talks about isn't politics, it is meta politics. He's not trying to convince people of his beliefs on issues, he is trying to convince them of his beliefs on how we should go about addressing political issues at all. This gives him the ability to look on both sides of the aisle and evaluate them strategically, instead of personally. And his main advice to both sides is to get stronger and become better people. And that's great for us because we want to be strong, and most of the Left's dysfunction and idiocy comes from them being weak. More strong people = less retarded Leftists, not stronger opponents.

For example, it is pretty easy to see that if more of the Liberals we face were people like Peterson, then we actually could discuss important issues like Race without it turning into a clusterfuck and could actually get to the bottom of things. He is trying to reform the conversational space around politics. If he succeeds, then ideas that are true will have a better chance of succeeding.

Yeah, the super attractive message that nothing is easy, you are going to struggle and suffer, and you have to sort yourself out. That sort of message could only be compelling if people felt it was fundamentally true. Which they do. Which is why he's successful.

Our culture has so few role models that we now consider it strange when people get excited about someone. Sure, call people pathetic for getting a bit giddy, but what's really wrong with it? Some autists will go to far, but that's hardly the man's fault.

It isn't like lots of e-celebs whose goal is to create a personality but don't offer much content. Peterson has a shitload of content. And a lot of it is him essentially thinking out loud and trying to get his thoughts in order. People are attracted to that because it helps them get their thoughts in order too. And it's clearly not some pre-meditated, optimized manipulation.

People SHOULD get excited by leaders and role models. The problem isn't Peterson, it's that there aren't more upstanding, grounded people like him to also look up to.
