Honestly though, nothing will happen. Even though people are pissed at nearly everything and everyone they are too comfortable in their life to do anything to disrupt it.

People will need to not only be angry but be passionate about change, not passionate enough to just sign a petition or go to a protest or get in arguments on facebook, twitter and reddit, but passionate enough that they are willing to take up arms and be ready to use them to take a life and put their own life on the line to make changes.

And that probably won’t happen until people get desperate. There is no desperation. When people run out of food, water, fuel and see no way for things to get better then people might start to get desperate.

It needs to be a mix of the right anger with desperation and will among the right group who will lead it, then others will follow. Nobody wants to throw the first stone.

Both are extremely unlikely. The only "realistic" scenarios are very unlikely. Massive world war, including attacks on the homeland, could lead to a complete collapse/breakdown in the US government. Instead of one government, we could disband into a few regionalized governments.

Or...a massive natural disaster, like Yellowstone blowing a quarter of the country to Hell...could cause enough chaos that normal government institutions would fail to control the fallout and social disorder.

But, like a few other said...the most realistic scenario is that nothing like those scenarios happen. Rather, quality of life for most people continues to decline. People get poorer and more addicted to medication and entertainment (TV, Internet, cell phones). Our current rulers retire, but are replaced by a new generation of the same old type of politicians. People, even normies, crave Happenings because most feel unfulfilled with modern life. They feel no sense of community, massive stress in the workplace and with money, and with little or no direction in life...other than "same shit, different day."

But even so...the REAL Happenings are no more likely as a result. There is such an immense disparity in power between those in charge and the average person, that most are resigned to decline. This isn't 1776, when your musket is just as good as theirs. You are a baby, and they are Terminator.
