It's a job, just like any other. Our country faces very little danger, and all of such danger is the result of our veterans who destabilized the middle east.

>It's a job, just like any other.
They don't get paid much to get shot at.
>Our country faces very little danger
As it is, it could not survive without the petro-dollar.
>and all of such danger is the result of our veterans who destabilized the middle east.
If you pay your taxes, you're just as responsible.
If you work at all, even.

Tl:dr- because capitalism

Honestly, being a soldier in NK seems pretty sweet. If there's ever a war it'll be over pretty soon. And everyone's else starving but you.

Its mostly a PR stunt that turned into a nationwide acceptance so the troops feel good about going to war over and over & the benefits entice people to join and stay in.

That being said, the harshness of war is brutal and there are a few that do endure heroic accomplishments particularly men on the front lines and in the spec ops community. Its not an easy life to be a soldier in the midst of combat. They don't ask for your respect, but the ones who know what they've been through understand and its a shared brotherhood.

Millenials...
Not the slightest clue what freedom is worth

Veterans give themselves over to defending the constitution. They don't have a choice as to who the president is or who the men appointed over them will be. You follow the orders unless those orders are unlawful.
Besides, the middle east was destabilized by the Bush white house, not the soldiers who spent a decade cleaning up the mess afterwords.
Anyway anon, most veterans don't feel like they deserve that much respect anyway. That's mostly a line from southerners who never served but are all too proud of other peoples' service.
At any rate the idea that all veterans are cookie cutter armie infantry is retarded. There are plenty of people in uniform right now keeping your civil technology infrastructure out of the hands of the Chinese, helping to covertly sabotage North Koreas missile program, or doing humanitarian work throughout South America and Africa.

No, it's not like any other. Military might makes everything else possible.
>faces very little danger
Would that still be true if we had no soldiers?
they should deserve better treatment than refugees at least.

Baby killing cowards.
