People were initially joyous at his deposition. That didn't last long.
A government with a despotic leader is still a hundred times better than no government at all.

Americas greatest failing wasn't that it removed saddam hussein from power. It's that it did not institute a solid government or supporting military and police force in Iraq afterwards. It created a power vacuum that allowed multiple zealot groups to swoop in.
