For what it's worth, my 87yo grandpa was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer well over a year ago, and he's still in good enough shape to make dirty jokes. He's lived a good disciplined life and it's served him well.

I lived vegan for 3 years (not for animal feels but because I've had extreme IBS since my teens) and it honestly helped out a lot. I'm eating meat again but am a lot pickier.

I already explained why it's illogical earlier further adding to it however, you assume that stress response doesn't also increase mucus secretion and also that the stress acid secretion is abnormal compared to food acid secretion otherwise eating would cause ulcers too wouldn't it? I'm not a medical professional, but I am medical student. If I don't know something, then yeah, I'll pretty much stick to the established treatment guidelines. If ketogenic diets are being experimentally used as treatment and they show promising results, they'll eventually be introduced into standard treatments, but I don't really see much logic behind them with the knowledge that I have, even though I'm no expert.

There's hundreds of shady alternative medicine "treatments" for all kinds of illnesses around the internet with anecdotes and survivor stories, but they're usually just snake oil medicine which is why I'm always sceptical of claims like these, especially when they're on /pol/ which is a Mecca for conspiracy theories.

yea I meant false-negative, thanks. i just read the abstract to that paper... they end by saying that diabetics have a higher rate of cancers. perhaps that is due to poor blood sugar control and the ketone bodies are just a byproduct, not a cause. I'm just speculating here, but the keto diet seems to give lots of health results and works very differently than ketone bodies in diabetics. One provides very good health and fitness results, the other does the exact opposite.
