How is it so hard to live within your means? My living expenses are about $550/mo for rent, bills, gas, and groceries.
How can you be broke and not retarded?
>>
>>130946927

Only if you are bad with money. Most people save their money and don't buy stupid shit. People also work more or get a better job if they need more money. The key to successful money management is keeping your liabilities to creditors low. Big mistake people make is buying cars and houses they can't afford because of muh status.
>>
>>130946927
It is if you're poor and trying to live above your means with shit you don't need. If you're young home should be a place to sleep that has a roof over it, a place to have sex if you so desire, and a place to cook occasionally. Everything else is superfluous.

You must live in the middle of fucking nowhere in a 1 room house that has no plumbing with the toilet 40 feet away in an outhouse and use your neighbor's hose to take a shower.
>>
I live in a third world country and Im able to maintain myself and save money.

Are americans retarded or just brainwashed to waste money?
>>
>>130947526
Sounds like you just kind of moved out without a solid plan for properly determining your budget beforehand, which is the biggest mistake you could possibly make. Why would you move somewhere where rent alone is about 2/3 of your income?
>>
>>130947526
Stop eating fast food.
>>
You are aware that the '10% on treats' is the thing fucking you right?

If you're just squeeking by and a hundred bucks could make or break you then saving it or working 10% harder for another hundred is infinitely better than spending it frivolously. Every month if you were ahead of your payments by 10% and saved it then by the end of the year you would have a rainy day fund
>>
>>130947198
>$550/mo
Where the fuck do you work?

I work for a wage slave company and still make over double that a month.
>>
>>130947198
>My living expenses are about $550/mo for rent, bills, gas, and groceries.

Where do you live? What ZIP? Because I live in Chimpcinnati's metro and before I picked up a Jew deal on a house, I was living very modestly in a one bedroom and my fucking RENT in Cinci was $550.

Pretty similar prices all over here unless you're willing to house share a dubious building or live with iron bars on your windows, surrounded by feral niggers.

So where the fuck do you live with 550 total?!
>>
>>130946927
That's not being an adult, that's being financially irresponsible while having a low earning potential. Only some adults do that but more than you'd expect.
>>

How often do you eat out/eat prepared food vs. time spent cooking? Unless you live in Alaska or something I can't fathom spending that much on raw ingredients per month.

>>130946927
Maybe we should spend money on high-quality housing/transport everywhere in our countries rather than gibs to Africa and people who can't tie their own shoelaces without government supervision 24/7. That way people could afford to live anywhere they want and businesses could operate where they want. Then wealth won't be so concentrated in cities like London and New York and all Westerners can share in the prosperity we're supposed to have.

the latter. Also people spend their money on decadent shit like the "avocado toast" for example, not to mention many of these retards are already thousands in debt because they went to an expensive uni. I went to community college for 2 years, then will be commuting for the next two (finishing next year). I'm able to work so I should graduate debt free. I paid about 2k a semester per class at community college, I pay around 8k a semester now which should result in only about 16k in debt + what I've already paid because I have a job too. Most people go to these scam colleges where they ahve to pay for housing and food catered through the school for like 25k a semester. Plus I bet shit in your country is cheaper in general because our companies know they can rip retards off selling the same product with a different name pic related

I don't worry about money. I make a lower middle class salary. I have a 401k and I'm about to pay off my car and then open an IRA. I can't afford fancy things but all of my needs are taken care of and fancy things have never made me happy. My hobbies (vidya, growing my own food, reading, shooting) aren't expensive.

The key is to not live beyond your means. Have a budget and stick to it. It isn't hard to do, tards just have no impulse control and that's why they end up 100k in debt to Mordy Shekelstein

ah okay interesting. I was reading an Eastern Euros post a few days back that claimed that prices were like that, I guess I shouldn't have assumed the same for SA. But yeah if people weren't complete retards about their money they could be wealthy in the US. I drive an old 2006 Honda Civic i paid straight cash for in high school, so no car payments. By the time the thing is unusable I should be about 25 at least, im 21 now and by then I should have the income to get a better car. I have many friends who will go buy whatever they can make the car payments on not what they can afford so they're driving new 2014 Impalas or something like that. They just go into more and more debt with no regard for how these decisions will affect their futures.

I can fully understand OP right now. Currently living in a small city in southern ontario and fuck is rent expensive. 800/mo for an apartment living in a building with actual crack heads. $100/week for groceries is pretty normal up here if you prepare meals yourself, even buying bulk and cheap. Oh and prices on everything is going up again soon.
I'm barely making my bills and have no idea what to do. I can't afford the certifications to get into a trade, and only have basic experience at small stores and grocery. I still apply to 5 or so jobs a week but nothing really comes up. I just don't have the experience they're asking for.

I am a student, and have 10,200 pounds to live off a year. I spend about 5,500. 10k a year (slightly below min wage) would be absolute luxury standard.

A combo of these are why you've got no money

>paying for bus constantly instead of cycling or walking

This is the way to got desu.
College is a Jewish scam, you can always go later too if you really need it. Going right out of high school when you are dirt poor and have to take on an enormous debt at the beginning of your adult life is pure retardation.
Cars are also a Jewish scam. The car is not worth what you pay for it, the moment you drive it off the lot you loose money in the value of the car. A 10 year old car you paid a few grand for is going to maintain its value because its price is no longer falsely inflated. You don't need a $600 car payment plus full coverage insurance at 22 just because all your friends are doing it.
And if your parents let you stay with them rent free, take full advantage of it by saving the majority of your income that you would normally use to pay rent.
I don;t know why people are so damn eager to begin their adult life in the fucking hole.
>>
>>130971629

>>130971629
Best thing to do is take steps to calm the fuck down. Won't fix itself unless you work on it, and it won't be fixed right away. I felt kinda similar on my first job, but after getting more experience, it seems to take a lot to resort to firing for most people. First job was at a warehouse loading trucks and we had a new guy not make anywhere near his contribution and do fuck all for almost 2 months before he was fired. Didn't even know the location of incredibly basic items. Sounds like you probably have social anxiety too, to which I would recommend more testosterone from working out and to try and make the process of socializing automatic. Don't go into your head and acknowledge its uncomfortable or social or analyze it, just slow down and practice.

if you're making minimum wage, you're just surviving. you can't save or study, because you have no money or time.

Learn to save, and learn to shop. Ask an old lady or someone's mom. They have a lot of tips and tricks. Also look up personal finance on jewtube, they will give you percentages to allocate for certain expenses. And if you don't track every purchase you are doing it wrong. Learn to cook also. Here in Texas produce is cheap I can eat off $100 a month if I stay away from processed. And look into an air fryer, a cooking method which saves time, oil. Energy usage. I by dollar fifty bags of russet potatoes make twice the amount of fries in a preprepared bag of ore-Ida.

What state did you get a DUI in? A DUI conviction is gonna follow you around for the rest of your life and severely limit your employment options.
I got one myself in IL - not expungible from your record under any circumstances.
>>
>>130958952
I am debt free and feeling the same, but I only make 55k and I work souldraining swing shift.

There's more out there, our kind just needs to find it.
>>
>>130989708
Where else should one buy a car from then
>>
All I worry about is buying my second home. Have 401k, Roth IRA, 1.5 years living expenses saved, FSA is fully funded, wife stays at home with our child bc working mothers are for losers. Paying double payments to pay down principle. Get a better job and don't waste money on stupid shit
>>
>>130990091
Florida. Got a solid attorney, and got the charges reduced to reckless. The penalties are still shit but the DUI won't haunt me.
>>
>>130946927
Stop wasting money on frivolous shit dumbfuck.
>>
>>130990365
Lucky you. Crook County Illinois doesn't let you plead DUI down to a reckless. I ended up paying close to $10k in attorney's fees, court costs and probation fees. I landed a job offer starting at 108K but still nervous about having to explain the DUI on my record to HR when they pull my background check. Job doesn't involve driving so hopefully they will not rescind my offer. Don't drink and drive.

Private party. Save up 1500, buy something reliable. 90's hondas, (prelude, civic, crv, etc). I have had a '95 f150 for over a year and has literally never failed me.
>>
>>130946927
Thats why im going to the police acadamy. 2 years of education, jobsecurity is very high, starting salary is around 60k, new day everyday, get to breathe fresh air, don't have to slave for profit to a jew overlord, get to drive fast and experience exciting stuff, get to have a gun and go to shooting practice. ll have money enough to get by, to go on vacation, and not have to worry about OPs struggles. Pension is super sweet too.
>>
>>130990580
That's fucking ballistic. What was your blood/alcohol when you got busted? Mine was .148
>>
>>130990626
this. Hondas are god-tier for reliability. I'm on my 5th Honda right now, an early 2000s Accord. They just work and keep on working. Lowest cost of ownership of just about any car out there.

>making $70k/year at job
there are very few job in the US that are open to non-college graduates that pay this well, and I have one of them. however it's very competitive to get a spot and you still have to work your way up.

even HR will make you get a CS degree for a coding job, shit's ridiculous.
>>
>>130990626
even so the incentives are skewed. why sell a used car that runs well? hardly anyone ever does.

I live in manhattan and my rent is 650.

I share a shithole with others, but I'm saving money WHILE in law school/working.

When you take cost of living into account, it's not that great. I think we're a bit ahead of New York on the cost side, which gives some perspective.

A tiny cuckshed in Oslo goes for $400k+

The reason why the meme is 3K civic is because that's the lowest you're going to get for a reliable civic. At 1500, you're looking at Poor Man's Special (anything that'll run).

>>130993796
Basically. Both a family member and a friend got conned by the "change the battery just before the test drive" scam. Former bought for 1500, the other for 15000.

I live in MD and I make 40k a year. No college, blue collar job. Worked my way up from a temp agency making shit to lower management over the years.
I would be sitting pretty right now if I were in TX or one of the flyover states but in MD where the median income of a household is fucking 69k I gotta say its harder here for me right now.
Thank god I have no kids or I would be in even worse shape.

I just googled it and the height requirement for police in Denmark is 152 cm, so 5 foot even. You aren't that much of an uber manlet are you?

I don't know why people are shitting on you. Destitute-tier involves living in your car.

https://www.whistleout.com/CellPhones/Guides/guide-to-free-cell-phone-plans for literally free phone plans + phones.
Ting charges you based on usage. So if you use VoIP, internet-based SMS, and mooch off wifi at McDonald's, Starbucks, Library, etc. you can meet a very low amount a month. Google Voice is an easy way to accomplish this and makes it a lot easier to switch phones (you don't have to port your number) and lets you make calls and text from the computer.

You can just pirate your video games and TV shows. Or if you're trying to be ethical, you can read books, play free MMOs, and watch YouTube videos. You could even get a hobby or something.

I net $2600 a month
>rent $1300
> electric $50 a month
> gas $15 a month

I eat out literally every single day, $20 daily
> smoke a pack a day, $12 daily
>smartphone bought and paid monthly by company
>carpool to and from work daily

I have $5000 saved and another $3000 in my 401K

>tfw NYC prices are exorbitant (50% OF YEARLY SALARY BLOWN ON RENT)
>tfw I could quit ordering out but paying others to prepare and deliver restaurant (not fast-food) tier cuisine is one of the only pleasures I reserve in this life
>tfw I could quit smoking but I'm a recovering heroin addict ($2000 a month for two years, blew through all my savings) so the nicotine Jew doesn't seem so bad and I don't drink poke smot dabble in their rec drugs

What do you think /pol/? I'm sure 90% of you are rural hicks whose eyes are boggling

Honest opinions PLOX

Vidya isn't even that expensive of a hobby. You don't even have to live furgal, just don't live like a fucking retard. There's a middle ground. Don't spend money you don't have, and save what ever you can. That's it. No loans, no debt, no credit cards. Budget your expenses and live within your means, and save what ever's left over.
Instead of going to college for 4 years right out of highschool, stay at home for 4 years and work full time. You'll have no expenses, so you can save almost all of it. Even at minimum wage, you're looking at 60k in your bank. Then find a job you can sustain yourself on, which you know have work experience, and buy what ever the fuck you want.
It's not that hard, just don't fall for Jewish tricks. Just remember who's loaning you that money. They know you'll never be able to pay it back.

Here is some serious advice for anons looking to live a bit more frugally or even go to college and having a cheap living.

Invest in pic related. You can find leftover FEMA trailers for cheap at auctions.
>living at an RV park going to university
>rent is $365/month
>no electricity/water/garbage/internet/tv bill
>no bullshit leases
>no pet deposits
>only have to refill propane every few months

Seriously, student housing and multi-person housing complexes are the most jewy types of living commodities. Living in this has kept my student loans below 30K.
>>
I work at a low tier shit manual labour job with no education and i can SAVE roughly 2 200 dollars a month after i've paid all bills and food. I don't understand what kind of shit countries you live in.

fucking retarded.

When I first got a job I worried about money a little bit, but after putting away 50% or more of my paycheck into investments and savings for a few months, I had zero financial worries.

After doing it for five years, I hardly even think about money.
