It provides a path to victory. Religion doesn't HAVE to be a part of that, but rooting ourselves in our past is necessary to create a platform on which to attempt political change.
A big part of this will be the creation of new myths and new traditions. They'll be hollow at the start, but if we manage to win, can grow into actual traditions which will be racially aware, and may last us an eternity.
