I didn't know Tsar Nicholas II had an admirer in El Salvador, but his actions had doomed the Russian monarchy, irrespective of whether war had broken out in 1914. He launched a war against Japan that backfired spectacularly when they were beaten, triggered a revolution by having his guards open fire on a peaceful march, failed to gain support for the monarchy from the middle-classes by creating a parliament that had no power whatsoever and made few attempts to industrialise Russia's backward and agrarian economy meaning that when war broke out, his country didn't stand a chance against an industrialised Germany. Then when war did break out, he left the country in the hands of Rasputin, a serf despised by Russia's elite, and Alexandra, who was of German descent. Not the best person to have in charge of your country when you're at war with Germany.

All in all, he managed to alienate the peasants, the middle-classes, and the ruling elite, so that when a Revolution did occur, nobody came to his aid. He didn't deserve a grisly end, but his incompetence felled one of Europe's oldest monarchies. If Russia had had a more capable monarch, then it's possible the Bolshevik Revolution would never have occurred.

Nicholas was a pretty face. Nothing more. Good guy to probably get a beer with, not the guy you want running an empire that requires a godking.
