I think the chemtrail planes are also used as reconnaissance. And also to interfere with satellite images. Basically a fog of war.

Either that or scientific testing on short/long term wind patterns. Seeing where fallout will go, or chemical weapons.

I honestly do not believe the pollution caused by chemtrails is very significant, but it very well could be.
