Religion tries to distract and confuse people on the fact that the natural world having law and order, and also from the fact that we can do things in order to exploit it for our benefit.

E.g religion says the fossil records are falsified or the science behind it is bogus. Or religion says you don't need doctors or medicine to cure a disease, just religion.

I remember reading about Kierkegaard and the question of suicide few years ago, time to take a deeper dive.

Religion is the system surrounding some sort of faith or belief. The Bible says that women who aren't virgins before marriage shall be put to death, but we don't associate Christians as people who kill their daughters for this reason because no priest promotes it.
