What's your cunts opinion on video game playing? I obviously have played video games. As a kid I was quite into video games. My last system I bought new was an original xbox. Around 2005-06, I just couldn't play games anymore. My attention was not held by them. Then a few years ago I got a used ps3 and literally only played 1 game. I personally feel video games are not necessarily dangerous but I do recognize how some people get submerged into the e world. Should kids be playing games? If this was the 90's I'd say yes but now the gaming culture and online play is really no place for a fucking kid no? Should older people be playing games? Obviously you can do what you want but you have to admit the fact that video games are ruining a lot of the male population. Hell, they are even ruining a portion of females. You know a chick is fucked if she plays video games. In the end, we are seeing the result of the E world I truly believe it will not get better in the coming years as my generation grows older. Does the current year affect video games and their impacts?

I still play video games, less so in summer but quite a bit in the deathscape that is winter where I live.
To each his own we are all chasing a dopamine high whether you get it outside or sitting on your ass I am not sure it matters.
Just remember to always work out and be fit.

Thanks for replying. I agree with your statement on the seeking of a dopamine high but are video the right avenue to achieve these highs? I'm seriously asking. I'm obviously aware of people like yourself who can play games and can still functiuon but as you already know, there are some cunts who's life is shaped and revolved around the e world. do you believe video games to be a positive thing for society in todays age? Afterall we are not playing space invaders anymore. Again thanks for adding to the discussion. cheers.

Video games are a hobby, but also a new medium, which means that every old will scream "bad! stupid! violent! primitive!" and so on, because either they base their view on infancy or they don't really want to change their minds.
About dangers of video games: if you use them as care takers for children, it's your own fault. Games aren't meant to substitute parents. Teens and adults may fall to gaming compulsion because of various reasons, some of them are disappointment, lack of purpose, not being socially accepted... It's pretty shameful that you view gamers as bad people.
And finally about getting bored with them: they're hobbies - sometimes people simply grow out of them. Nothing special.

I am honestly tempted to agree with you but at the same time I recognize that there are people who play games and can be functional in society but the young people growing up today are growing up ina different "gamer" culture. If you had a child would you let it play games? Thanks for replying. cheers.

team based games can be a nice way to connect/stay in contact with friends. it's important to have balance in your life though (exercise, outside activity, cultural activity, intellectual activity etc.). games can provide a variety of benefits, but people (young males esp) can get addicted
>>
>>130831039
Then maybe for you it's waste of time. For others apparently not.
>>
>>130829607
Depends on the type of games.

Dumb shooters make you dumber.
Smart strategy games make you smarter.

as amusician I would agree that music is a better outlet. I have never played rocksmith but have tried guitar hero when it was hot. Id honestly rather play my real life telecaster. I will not lie, I have seen that rocksmith game displayed and am curious about it. I guess I'm more talking about "rpg" games and these life simulator games. Do you think they have positive benfits on our "current year" society?thanks for replying. cheers.

I would probably make my kids go through the same games I did as a child. I learned the alphabet from old school Metroid (I wasn't in school yet when I first played it). I learned to type from Hero's Quest on PC (and Mavis Beacon of course!). Games can be a great learning tool.

This a touchy subject I know, especially among this community but we need to discuss it. I know a lot of you gamers aren't too happy with the diresction a lot of the gaming studios are heading towards. are todays hot current games just propaganda to brainwash naïve and retarded gamers?
>>
>>130832527
No, but you can't do any of that in real life. That is my point. Games are fantasy and escapism. You can get the same shit from reading a book or watching a movie.
We used to take Polaroids when we beat games. I still have some old pictures from when I beat the Mario 1 2 and 3. Grandma was proud. But it means nothing.
>>
>>130829607
I dug up some old games last week, and played them and something really stuck out to me that I never really considered, and it's hard to get out of my head. Going for the low score, as in avoiding everything that adds to percentage, is a more challenging undertaking than high score by very very far. Video games are not a hobby and never will be because there's nothing but artificial caps on what can be done and how well someone can conceivably perform. You must see this for what it is; a dying fad that's long since exhausted all of its novelty.
>>
>>130829607
I play a lot of Starcraft, it's the same thing as wasting time watching a TV series or anything else that isn't really productive but it's somewhat relaxing. Nothing wrong with that.

>>130833238
It would be perfect if you spent time on playing a game for an hour-two before handing it to children.
Starcraft itself isn't very violent or glorifying violence, but remember that 1. it's about war and 2. it requires strategic planning and a tactical sense. It may be ok for teens, but children simply won't find it appealing.

I've been playing all sorts of gore games namely Doom during my childhood. I'm 20 now and I feel ok but I rarely play vanilla doom unless it's Project Brutality otherwise it's boring and just for nostalgia.
IMO age ratings aren't really required unless it's got sexual stuff in it like people fucking or nakedness.
>>
>>130833238
Most video games are alright. What you don't want to do is get addicted to a certain game like some posters have said.
Ex, people who play WoW, League, Steam games etc for hours and hours disregarding everything else irl. It's very common.

I didn't say that.
>>
>>130833786
Have you played WoW recently? There's practically no way to get addicted now since there isn't anything worthwile to do meanwhile I popped up in Warmane's burning crusade realm and lost a week of my life to level to 65 just because I liked the old grinding mechanic.
I quit then because I feared that if I reach 70 I'll have to waste even more time to get decent PVE gear
>>
Video games are degenerate and the people who play them should not propogate
>>
>>130829607
I don't think there's anything wrong with them as long as you don't take them too seriously. I play mostly online games with childhood friends that I can't really meet because of distance, and they are good for keeping in contact.

>Wii
Oh dude, if you want something for children, Nintendo is 99% a safe bet. They may sell more difficult games, but almost everything they do is ok for children. Basically low-danger zone, in comparison to everything (besides mobile/smartphone gaming). This may not be relevant for you, but for your friends.
But, you know. It's a hobby. Not everybody makes airplane models, not everybody plays in theatre and so on. They don't play, it's fine, there are many people that don't play VG and within gamer community, there are many gamers that don't play 90% of games because they aren't appealing.
...I think I might be overcomplicating the matter.
>>
>>130834141
But if you don't try to affect other people or society, it means nothing for them and for world at large.
>>
>>130834263
Video games gave me the incredible reflexes required for biking through a city of oil slaves. They were the art of the 90's generation. Older generations had other stupid things to give kids... cartoons, dolls, etc. the only degenerates are the ones reacting overly to unimportant side effects of the real issues, like having niggers and pedos and other weirdos outside that kill kids who go down the wrong streets

I will not argue that some types of games can help increase your hand eye coordination. Like I stated ihave only played one game in the last 10 years haha and it's a racing game. So I do understand how games can help that area but I guess my question is the social impact of video games. This is a discussion. No right or wrong. just want to hear fellows opinions and hopefully have a "reasonable discussion" . cheers.

They are harmless if you're not a loser. I don't even feel an urge to play, and haven't bought anything in like 2 years. Occasionally I'll install something from my steam list I feel like fucking around with for a weekend, but that's about it. Plus Fallout is about the only game series I still like until the SJWs fuck that up the ass in the next installment too.

I think even without the games we have SJW agenda in our movies, music, tv, books, classrooms, adverts, politics etc etc. It's inescapable anyway you want to look at it. Kids need proper parenting and guidance from useful role models now more than ever to help them avoid being brainwashed just by living.
