Even at the height of the famine, villagers were outraged to find cannibals in their midst, so much so that they were spontaneously beaten or even burned to death. Most people did not succumb to cannibalism. An orphan was a child who had not been eaten by his parents.

And even those who did eat human flesh acted from various motivations. Some cannibals were clearly criminals of the worst kind. Bazylii Graniewicz, for example, lost his brother Kolya to a cannibal. When the cannibal was arrested by the militia, Kolya's head was among eleven found in his house. Yet cannibalism was, sometimes, a victimless crime. Some mothers and fathers killed their children and ate them. In those cases the children were clearly victims. But other parents asked their children to make use of their own bodies if they passed away. More than one Ukrainian child had to tell a brother or sister: "Mother says that we should eat her if she dies." This was forethought and love.

I'm not saying Marx was mistaken because he was an idiot or anything, he was mistaken because he's a product of his time. Jobs won't be removed, simply changed. As a society and economy changes, people simply don't stop spending money on things, it just changes where they spend their money.

As products and resources become cheaper due to automation and other factors, people spend less money on these things. This allows them to have more money for leisure or entertainment spending. They then increase their spending toward these things. They spend more money on art, music, or other frivolous things that don't become cheaper due to automation. This creates a larger push to an industry behind these things, and thus jobs open up in these industries. Our value system changes as our economies change. Eventually, the only jobs that will exist will be artists, philosophers, writiers, film makers / game makers, musicians, anything humanities, architecture, etc. since those will be the jobs that are mostly incapable of automation, but by that time the cost of living should be so artificially low anyway.

Yeah the government can give the citizens a stipend to buy extremely cheap (due to automation) goods. But how is that called? Most would call that socialism. When the government taxes corporations that employ automation and redistributes that wealth to its citizens that produce nothing then it's literally indirectly giving the means of production to the citizens since the citizens decide what is produced based on their consumption patterns.

Even those "creative" jobs you posted will be automated. Humans have no leg up against intellectually superior AI. Even prostitutes will be replaced by AI on a long enough timescale.

People often argue against communism saying that it's nice in theory but that historically it has always been a disaster.
I would say that it's a terrible idea even in theory to try and put an entire country under it, let alone a multiethnic/multicultural one.
The highest level that socialsm can work is within the context of a nuclear family, because that is the only context in which the biggest earners care as much, if not more, about the other members well being.
Anything beyond that it is diminished. Socialism could (sort of) work inside a small tribe, but even then the biggest earners are going to get more in terms of respect, sex, etc and at least some of which will resent those that are more of a dead weight.
The idea that people actually believe this can work on a national level, let alone with groups of completely disparate people that hate each other is laughable. Communists are all either evil or stupid.
