How do fortune tellers work? Do they genuinely believe in the tea leave/coffee cup reading shit, or are they running a scam involving making educated guesses based on physically obvious attributes and then saying a bunch of self help optimistic shit that then becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy since the participant genuinely believe it to be true (because their logic defenses were weakened by the confirmation bias of the nonspecific generalized astrology bullshit resonating with them)?

Is it all psychology and persuasion?
