Christianity teaches that you can never be good enough to get into heaven by works alone, and only by asking for forgiveness and accepting Jesus as your savior do you actually get absolved of your otherwise inevitable shittiness. This results in two things that are largely unique among the abrahamic faiths, and is also sadly disregarded by shitty people that somehow think they can be a good christian by works alone.

1) The faith teaches self discipline by telling you what is a sin and what is not, and pointing these actions and thoughts out to you, making you more conscious of your own shittiness so that you can self correct.

2) Teaches that the change starts in your heart. You do not act good and then become good, the inner workings of the Lord in your heart leads you towards good behavior. Christianity teaches to not judge others, obey the laws of the land after the laws of the lord, and help your fellow man above yourself. The laws of the lord are also universally self-policed behaviors.

In short, christianity teaches the original NAP, does not give a shit about the behavior of non-believers, and teaches you to not judge either. The only person that can judge sin without being a raging hypocrite is the big man himself, and spoiler alert, you're just as shit as the person you want to judge.
