My family has been apart of 4chan for at least 4 generations. My great great grandpapa started using 4chan when it was still only available via the pony express.

I was doing my first post-doc studies researching late period ancient Egypt in the archives of the British Museum and came across a scroll that made a passing reference to a secret "papyrus exchange" club. The new medium of exchange at this time was rapidly become the internet, so I plunged into the deep web with the help of a computer hacker that went by the pseudonym W.T.S. and we navigated a complex labyrinth of encryption firewalls and guardians daemon bot programs to eventually uncover a sparsely populated imageboard that existed for the discussion of oriental art. At first the dialect they used made absolutely no sense to me, it was all in English but the context in which the words were used seemed completely random and meaningless. Over time using analysis algorithms and a lot of guesswork I was able to translate their garbled English into something I could comprehend and realized that I really had found the secret club. That was in 1996, been here ever since.
