You are tasked with the mission of selecting 5 movies that document the most important cultural and social values of the dying western, European civilization. The values don't have to be stated or expressed explicitly, but rather captured with a spirit or essence that encapsulates the ideas you want to survive.
Think of it as a sort of National Film Registry Project for the West. Your children and the children of all of the other members of a new colony are being shipped off-world to a habitable planet but it will take decades to arrive, so until then, they will only have the media we gave them to keep the legacy of Europe alive while the rest of us martyrs stay on the terrorist-ridden, multicultural mess of a homeworld since space is limited on the ship.
