There's one thing I really like about the Czechs and it's their history of doing whatever they could to give the commie bloc the middle finger.

That's a personal decision for you to make. Personally if I were you I would consider myself more American than Czech. It's the place you grew up so I suppose I would call it my home. But I wouldn't judge you for "fleeing" because if you feel your Czech culture is out of place in the US, you shouldn't have to be stuck there just because your parents decided to move there.

Have you been Czech Republic a lot? How well do you speak the language? And I think you said your family still has a home there? Prague is probably the most beautiful city in Europe after Venice in my opinion. There's some beautiful nature too. But don't expect anything close to the level of luxury you are used to in the US.

Well, you can't refute that Czechs are very "progressive" socially. The main difference is that, unlike Swedes, they still value their nation/state. Still, having things like almost 70% divorce ratio is very dangerous for any nation.

It does kind of depend how in tune he is with Czech culture though, and how accurate his image of the country is. Have you ever seen that scene in the Sopranos where they go back to Sicily and all the people there thinks they're uncultured mongs? Or those people you see on Jersey shore? Also, OP, if you have a Czech passport you can live anywhere in the Schengen zone. You could live here too.
