Pretty much this. Excess labor leads to wage depression, wage depression makes the field less attractive. At this point the cycle would self-correct by having fewer professionals for a while, which would lead to an increase in demand, then an increase in wages, and once again more people interested in going into that profession. However, by allowing foreign labor to come in willing and happy to work for less, the cycle never corrects, and the wage depression spiral continues.

I'm a surgery resident and met some pajeets who either work here as well or on conferences and they told me their med students are picked out of 10 million applicants every year , so something like the 0.00001% get into med school and it's much more competitive than in other countries.

The real issue is that women are being trained to be doctors, even if it's clear that they never work even 50% of the total time that a male will. We have like 75% women studying medicine here in Switzerland. It's a huge bubble that will explode in the next 10-20 years.

I had to go back to the dentist 4 fucking times. I refused to pay for the last 3 times, because they where all related to her bullshit.
