How do you think the world would have continued if the south had actually won it's Independence?

In my opinion it would be not so good.

Lincoln would be impeached and lose his office due to even after taking extreme measures many saw as wrong to keep the union together he still failed, this part isn't bad, but its something that would happen.

Clearly slavery would be around for a while longer, but I also think it would still disappear after external pressure from other countries during the early years of the industrial revolution, as even before the civil war slavery was being seen as an outdated and cruel form of industry, this would mostly happen due to westward expansion which is as we all know american destiny, and unavoidable.

Both split nations would be poor due to not only being clearly separate in shared wealth but their borders would be tightly sealed, maybe not to the extent of east vs west Germany but still closely watched, meaning trade and comers between the two unionized collection of states would be difficult and or rare, and trade with other nations would be hesitant to show inequality.

Their would clearly also be even at times of peace a resentment and suspicious tension between the two nations.

Any involvement in war for either country would impact history and the relationship between the two, so the south knowing it has more to lose than the north would attempt to gain trust of France maybe Spain and England, while the north being mostly well of Irish and German heritage would side with well Germany and Ireland. The union would secretly help fund Irealand's cause to what little funds they had gained during the gold rush that was then put into industrialization while the south was just now getting rid of slavery and switching over to and industrialized economy the south would become a socialist nation... jk but the union would be a bit ahead of the south and might help Ireland claim itself as whole unlike what took place in our time

Oh actually I forgot to mention that native americans would clearly still own much more of the north west or maybe south west then they do now as the two countries would be too busy bickering to deal with their native inhabitable, and Hawaii, panama and Alaska would have no purpose of being owned by either of them, and would cost a whole lot of time and money neither had, this might put a bit of a tamper in south americans trade and expansion as well the panama canal clearly being an almost failed project of the french and the french heritage southern states.

The big thing here though is World war 1, as in my opinion the Great war would happen almost exactly as it did last time, but instead the union would be late to join... the German side and the south would be too afraid to be on opposing sides of the north, so now the union gets a big call out to itself around the world that the more wealthy south used to have, and all the while an Austrian man would as we all know rise to power in Germany a few decades later and being the leader of Nazi Germany, and once again the Great Conflict between them and many other european nations would happen just as expected, but well this time the United states would be on Germany's side early in the war and would be funded by Germany to do what it wanted just as japan had, and together they would rise out of the global depression fight a long bloody battle against the British and the soviets alike, while the soviets french and British would march together with the confederacy, and japan unchallenged by Australia would take over Asia!

The soviets without the industrial and strategic strength of a full United states wouldn't be enough to push Germany AND THE US back, and the US along with Germany's innovative mindsets would go on to create tanks and bombers, and fighters almost twice as fine as Germany or the US were able to do alone, and so the North would finally come storming in and take the south, nazism would rule.

The south would be crushed, France and Britain would faultier under the weight of Germany with no US supplies that it received in our time line, and the soviet Union would be at a stalemate with the western axis powers, and while still staying strong it would fall much earlier than it did before maybe 70s or 80s instead of during the 90s.

The United states would break strong ties with Nazi Germany and mellow itself out, and begin as it is known it do, rebuild the rest of Europe.
The cold war might happen as it did before, but in a much shorter span, conflicts in the middle east would be stomped out more brutally than they were by the US and EU, and Japan would take the place of China in our timeline, with south Korea and Vietnam driving out weak communism not propped up by china.

I believe most of the modern conflicts would take place in the power vacuum of Africa, and then also Between Asian countries like some type of Chinese union of other nations and the Japanese empire, who would become unstable after resentment to the leader of japan begins to be seen like it was in other Asian nations.
Hell maybe in that time line the massive China and Japan split into smaller nations as they had before, maybe even the concept of shogun and small samurai like militia returns in some form
