So /pol/, I've been researching more and more of Islam and the Quran, Hadiths, etc. In my search to find the basis in the literature for a lot of these backwards views in Islam, I came across a popular justification for death for apostasy: https://muflihun.com/bukhari/83/17
This hadith is one of the most accurate and revered books in Sunni islam behind the Quran. It's pretty fucking clear about shedding blood for apostasy and adultery.

I go to school in Atlanta, and there's a popular "modern, progressive" mosque right next door. I wanted to see what sect they were, found out they were Sunni, and wanted to look around their website to see if they had any information about their interpretations. Lo and behold, they have a blurb at the bottom of the home page QUOTING FROM THAT SAME BOOK. http://www.alfarooqmasjid.org/

Their blurb seems to change every hour? But they referenced Sahih Al-Bukhari with some praise. His hadiths are all about murdering apostates and Jews. Also, this is a muslim site which has 7.5mil Facebook likes and a 4.7/5 rating, justifying killing apostates: https://islamqa.info/en/20327
