The doctor seeing me was some guy with an italian last name, and I told him that I didn't want a Catholic doctor - I wanted a proper, skilled anglo saxon protestant doctor. He looked at me like I was nuts.

I don't see the big deal about poo and Asian doctors, at least you know they're probably actually smart/qualified and not a diversity admission to medical school.

What would scare me is a black doctor (obviously there are exceptions, skilled ones like based Ben Carson, but statistically speaking, your black doctor is far more likely to have scored lower on their MCATS and have been allowed into medical school because of their skin color than a white, Asian, etc. doctor).

Shit, I'm a T1 diabetic and one time ended up in hospital because of ketoacidosis - staying overnight I will never forget how this guy opposite me kept asking for a sandwich (they had these basic ham and butter sandwiches) and she kept ignoring him. The guy had asked/pleaded easily 10 times over the course of two hours. She was either Paki or Indian, a disgusting brown skin to a bug eyed face. Last year my mother who is almost 70 had a heart attack followed by kidney issues and needed lots of follow up care from several docs. We live in a small town in florida that is pretty much all white, the "nice" hospitals with the few white docs were an hour drive away so we stuck to more local ones in my county. To my shock, almost every single doctor is an Indian or some kind of brown in my white redneck town. It was a nightmare because they spoke in such thick accents that my mother could not understand almost everything they would explain to her, which was often important information.

I thought she was being dramatic till I started going to every visit with her and out of the 4 docs she would see, none were white and they were just as hard to fucking understand as she had been saying. Tec support guys are easier to understand. She also could not get any compassion from them on a human to human level about issues since brown folks are a bit cold and blut about things (asians too) which did not help the whole thing.

Old white people like what they know, and some doc who they cant understand when they speak, behaves in a way that is strange to them, and looks differently just frustrates them a lot faster. I totally get it now after dealing with it in person.

Ha, I've been to that clinic a few times when in a pinch. The quality of doctors and staff is about as close to third world as you can get up here. The whole clinic feels like a scam, they want to swipe your health card as many times as possible while doing as little as possible.
